Dr No

Hello Bond People, My name is Stanley Morgan. I played the part of the Casino Concierge in Dr No, sharing the scene with Sean Connery in which Bond is revealed to the cinema audience for the first time. Truly a definitive and pivotal moment in Bond history in which I am thrilled to have participated, and would be pleased to discuss.

Thank you, Scotty, delighted to be here.

There are some Dr NO grabs on my website: www.stanleymorgan.co.uk if you'd care to look.
Also some stills from Merton Park films in which I appeared with Bernard Lee, who, as I'm sure you know, played M in the early Bond films.

Thanks again for writing - Stanley

    Hello Mr Morgan!!!!!

You may know me better as Mark ... good to see you on ajb!

The guys on ajb are obviously impressed with the appearance in Dr.No....but you should all know a bit more about Stanley....apart from being an absolutely wonderful guy.....he's written multi-million selling books, starred in some of the best movies ever made (Dr.No and Night Train to Paris being my favourites of these). Not many know that Stanley starred alongside Aliza Gur who played Vida in From Russia With Love.

I would strongly recommend all of Stanley's books....the Tobin books (especially Tobin in Trouble and The Sewing Machine Man), and the new thriller... Trance (it is amazing!!!) You can get the all on amazon.

    Welcome to ajb Stan!

    Tarra!

Indeed welcome. How cool is that, not only to meet Connery but act beside him, must have been brilliant, although probably would not have been appreciated so much at that point.

It's wonderful to have you here,Stanley!I'll make a special point to look for you tonight when I watch my Dr.No DVD.And I'm also going to look for your books at Amazon.

One question: what were Terence Young and Eunice Gayson like to work with?

    All the best,

Wow! Thank you, Mark. You should have been my agent when I started out. I undoubtedly would have played 007!

All the books are available on AbeBooks.co.uk as well as Amazon and eBay. Russ Tobin, bless him, sold ten million copies worldwide. Is he me? Take a guess.

Thanks for your support, Mark. Much appreciated.

My thanks to all who have written.

Terence Young was, of course, extremely preoccupied with the Casino sequence, but I found him very polite and easy to work for. No problems.

Eunice is a very sweet lady. It was a joy to work on Dr No. Work? And I actually got paid for it!!

Like everyone else Stanley, let me say WELCOME! {[]

One question...do you remember who the gentleman was that you intercepted on his way into Les Ambassadeurs? He's always been sort of a mystery. I thought our resident genius The Cat had identified him...as Stanley Morgan!

With your appearance here, that is obviously incorrect, so I'm wondering if you could clear it up.

    Cheers,
    Sir Hillary

PS - This is not meant to slag The Cat -- he has forgotten more about Bond in the last five minutes than I have learned in the last 30 years!
    Hilly...you old devil!

    Hello, Sir Hillary,

I very much regret that I can't help you identify the MI6 chappie. I do recall he was very TALL, if that's any help.

Seriously, I, of course, chatted with him at the time, but it was one of those 'actors-who-pass-in-the-night' encounters, with too much going on around us to allow for much exchange of information.

Like yourself, every time I see that sequence I do wonder who he was, who his agent was, and how he got the part. I'd be interested to know.
