Not sure what was there, but it seems to have been removed.

Was that the MGF with a DB5 body on it? It didn't look very good to me.

    I'd like to see that.

In the meantime, for all those wanting to play at being Dalton on a budget, there's this:

Almost indistinguishable from the real thing, and a sure-fire hit with the ladies.

Apparently an MGB-based scam using real photos of a DB5. No wonder it was removed from ebay.
Those Berlinette coupes were nice though.

(click on the top right photo)

Slightly odd proportions. I remember seeing one of these years ago at a classic car show - it looked better in the flesh, but it was still no DB5.

You can get originals totally done over with new parts, so it looks as good and is reliable. That is if you got about a 100 grand free.

That MG is a proper car, I think its a Costello or Lenham from the 1960's

Either Costello or Ogle I thought ...

With classic cars not commanding such a price as they used to, a better bet would be either a 6 cylinder DBS (from OHMSS) or an early DBSV8

Why go for a copy when you can get the real thing for Mondeo money?

The DB5 used in Goldfinger was a prototype DB5, based on a Series V DB4, with 4 speed gearbox, yet it had electric windows, and twin gas fillers. You can find a Series V DB4 for about $80-100K, and you would have a wonderful car to start with, which, from the outside, looks exactly like a DB5. The instruments are quite different, and the car would not have electric windows, which can now be fit with aftermarket kits (www.aston.co.uk) All you would need is a DB5 rear emblem, and a Silver Birch paint job, and you're 007! A proper DB5 is a bit more, from $150,000 on up. These cars appreciate better than some real estate! There is also an auction at Newport Pagnell around May, and you can certainly get a reasonably priced DB5 there. The DBS is a cinch to buy, and there are a few on www.classic-driver.co.uk, mainly in Australia. I just saw a Vantage, which is what Lazenby drove in OHMSS going for about $45K. You need to paint it Olive Green, and do a sniper rifle in the glovebox, add the mirrors, and you have a 007 car...

Think we've lost the 'budget' part of this thread... and maybe an irony bypass.

Its a MG Coune Berlinette. Not many made but are highly collectable in there own right. An MGC GT is considered to be a poor man's Aston Martin but they are commanding prices now that mean you could get a very good Lotus Esprit and have change to keep it on the road. I'm something of an MG man, having owned 3, but am seriously considering an Esprit for my next toy.
