Why I'm not blown away.

I recently went to see Casino Royale with high expectations. When the film was over, everybody was in complete awe and amazement, everybody but me. The thing was, the whole time I felt like I wasn't watching a bond film. I know that this film was the true Bond invented by Ian Fleming but I'm having trouble accepting this. Craig was excellent, but the films and books are different from each other. The bond from the films was this superhero who would never bleed, who had this charm and sophistication. But he's grown into a different type of hero.

People even think he's better than Sean Connery and surpassed the classic films. perhaps this is true, but I can’t get myself to believe this. The whole film style was different, the title scene, the story, the villains. Everything. If this were the first Bond Film ever made it would certainly be one of my favorite films but, It just isn’t. I hope future bond films don’t become like this either, otherwise oddly uniformed henchmen may never return to this society.

Is this the place we used to love?
Is this the place that I've been dreaming of?
Oh simple thing where have you gone
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on

Your the man now, dog

-Sean Connery

Rest in Peace

I don't see how this is different from any other film review. Please post your comments to one of the two existing threads at the top of this forum. Topic closed.
