The Missing Torn Card

On the James Bond Web site, one of the clickable cards brings up a queen of hearts that is then torn in half.
The description on the bottom half reads: "The torn card is the sign of silent recognition among conspirators and spies who have never before met. Unlike code words or other signals, a torn playing card is a unique identifier and cannot be easily mimicked by an enemy. Each torn half has only one match."
When I first saw that a few months ago, I began to speculate how it would be utilized in the movie. And then in one of the previews, TV spots or making-of video journals, I vividly remember seeing Bond tear a card in half.
However, after seeing Casino Royale twice now, I can verify that no trace of the torn card is to be seen. Was this perhaps a scene that became rewritten or deleted? The only thing I can imagine it would have come from would be the first meeting between Bond and Leiter.
Does anyone else have knowledge of this vacant plot point?
