My memory isn't too good. I have read most of the Bond novels, and am currently re-reading them in order (up to From Russia, With Love).

My question is about Bond's navy career. Did Fleming introduce this in the books or did the films.

    Books. He was a commander during the second world war with the royal navy. Depending on which book you read, precise details change - this is a continuity problem created by Fleming.
