Greetings, fellow Bond fans.
Anyone else notice a similiarity between Craig and the great Robert Shaw as Red Grant?
Haircut, body size, ice-cold aroogance. The more I think about it the more connections I see.
Any opinions?

He does look kind of like good old red grant but after seeing CR (twice) he is James Bond to me.
but if you ever watch the TV Program "Sharpe's Eagle" based on the Book by Bernard Cornwell and staring Sean "006" Bean as Richard Sharpe then you see Daniel Craig playing an evil british army Lieutenant, howevewer he has Dark Hair in this.
But he is always calling another Lieutenant "Old Boy" I couldn't help laughing when I heard this because it reminded me of all the old Red Grant comparrisons.
BTW, I reccomend the Sharpe series, Sean Bean is amazing and it gives a very interesting take on the napolianic wars. but it does make you think were British Army officers of the day thart pig headed and stupid.
Solaris
I can second that.
It's not something I thought of while watching Casino Royale. However, at the time Daniel Craig was rumoured to be in the frame and even after he was officially announced I did see him more as a Bond villain. And Red Grant was just the kind of villain I very much had in mind.
If I could give an award for the best villainous portrayal in the entire series it would go to the late great Robert Shaw. He very convincingly turned Red Grant into the most intelligent, cold, calculating and ruthless killer.
As I was rewatching Layer Cake last night, it cossed my mind that Craig would be perfect as Modesty Blaise's sidekick Willie Garvin, if they ever want to finally make a decent movie with those great characters. Please feel free to disagree with this:007)
