Wade and Purvis

Seeing as Robert Wade and Neal Purvis have scripted the last three Bond films, I was curious as to how my fellow fans feel about their writing abilities.
As someone in another thread mentioned, the duo seemed to over-compensate with action in their Brosnan films to make up for weak story lines. I tend to agree . . .
Now, after having seen CR three times and loving it more after each viewing, I'm left wondering how much of that movie is the creation of Wade and Purvis, and how much of it is the result of Paul Haggis's doctoring the script?
Any thoughts . . .?

Bottom line, keep Purvis and Wade writing the stories with a great screenwriter polishing them for the silver screen and odds are you will get good stuff.
Very true, it should almost be credited Story by Purvis & Wade Screenplay by Haggis or the TWINE guy.
I think that they are good, but we see what they are like without the help in DAD lol
"Better make that two."
Great call.
I vastly enjoyed TWINE, and I didn't know what to do with myself during the first hour of DAD, I enjoyed it so much. But they really lost their minds in the second half of it. I don't know how much of it was Drag Queen behind the camera and how much of it was P&W, but whoever it was was seriously mind-maimed.
Everything on here pretty much knows how I feel about CR, so from my end, that's a feather in their cap. However, I'm pretty sure that Haggis contributed a great deal to that script, as the dialogue was much sharper than anything we've seen in a Bond film in a long time, and there were defintely many instances of social consciousness that came up which scream Haggis.
I personally would like to see a new team for the next film. No matter how good a team gets, if there's one thing the Bond franchise has proven over the years, it's that after a certain number of movies with one actor or one writing team or one director, you really start to run into diminishing marginal returns. For Connery, it was post-TB; Moore, post-FYEO; Brosnan, DAD. The only person I can honestly say that in some ways actually improved their product over and extended time was John Glen, whose films declined from FYEO to AVTAK but, IMO, took a big jump forward with TLD and LTK.
Isnt the continuinity of the screeplay writes something that needs to be there?
We had Maibaum, Manciwicks, Christopher Wood, pump out some good scripts but when someone does a one off like Roald Dahl , the loser from TND, i like him but Michael Wilson for LTK write crap ones and the movie doesnt do too well.
DAD shows that wade and poovis cant work on their own they need help e.g. two greats TWINE and CR.
