The Killers provide song for Bond 22

I can't believe I'me the one starting this thread. I head about this three days ago, so I would have thought that SOMEONE would have said something about it on her by now.
You just put in a Google search and you'll find loads of news links that claim The Killers have been tapped to provide the theme song for Bond 22. I of course knew this was fishy when we don't even have a confirmed title or a film shooting yet.
The original source to drop the bomb too was The Sun which is reknowned for its reliability. 8-)
I have two friends who absolutely hate The Killers, and they said they'd be hard pressed to sit through the title sequence if this is the case. I, of course, do NOT think it's the case. I think it's just a way to hype the group so that people will buy their albums.

New film -needs a different sound
Not for a Bond theme though. i think they should go old school for the next film i.e. Someone in of a similar mold to Shirley Bassey. Someone with a bit of strength in their voice. The last 4 have been a bit weak for my liking. Although I do like the new one more every time I hear it.
I actually saw this news item a couple of days ago, and I didn't bother posting it since I make this statement every time a new singer is "announced": no script, no director, no cast beyond Craig and Dench, no title, and they've got the band for the title song lined up? I don't believe it. But people have heard me say that before. . .

The other possibility is that Leona (the recent winner of the UK x-factor and all round Whitney-Houston-a-like) might not be a bad choice; attractive enough to be in her own video
