Goldeneye Source Beta Released Christmas Day

At 5 pm EST on Christmas Day, the Half-Life 2 mod Goldeneye:Source will have its Beta release. It's a multiplayer remake of Goldeneye 007 for Nintendo 64.

Download last year's Alpha release

The Beta release will work as long as you have any Source product (Counterstrike: Source, HL2 DM, HL2, or Day of Defeat Source).

The Alpha release was pretty fun, and there's going to be a ton more maps, several new weapons, a few more characters, and many other features implemented in this release.

    Yes, it's online, the only thing you can play is online multiplayer against other people.

    That looks brilliant. I did try the game in it's very early stages and liked it. I think if valve could do something with it and put in single player missions just like the 64, that would be brilliant.

    Valve has nothing to do with it except that the team is modding the Source engine. It's a completely fan-made, non-profit project.

    Yes exactly but if valve picked it up, it is an excellent concept for them to convert into a half life type james bond game.

    I loved the original GE game, can someone tell me in layman (sp) terms how I can play this new version??
