You're holding a parcel for me....

First, let me introduce myself. My name is John and I'm a long-time prop collector based in Virginia, USA. I collect more than Bond, but since Casino Royale I've been obsessed with Bond props again.

My latest acquisition is a Maruzen Gas Blowback Walther P99 with an accurate Casino Royale silencer. Originally I ordered the whole kit from 007q-branch.com, but my original shipment went missing. We believe it's been detained by UK customs. In any case, Kevin from Q-Branch didn't waste time sending me a replacement silencer (he even threw in another one that is accurate to the stubby one seen in the Omega adverts). We agreed that my best bet was to pick up a replacement P99 and threaded barrel from other sources we found, and he would simply send me the silencers and adaptor.

We agreed that he would either refund the money for the P99 that didn't make it or give me "store credit" and send me more swag from his amazing arsenal (I'll probably choose the latter).

This guy is a great merchant and a dream to deal with. When things went south he immediately called me from the UK and kept in constant phone and email contact. He never hesitated to offer me a full refund, even though he would have lost out on the deal.... And he's a friendly guy to boot -- I enjoyed getting to know him, and I will be doing more business with him....

I recommend 007Q-Branch enthusiastically. He's a true fan and a skilled artisan, and the silencers are gorgeous. I'm going to ask him if he can send me a plain set without his company logo, to look more "real-world."

The Maruzen P99 feels like the real deal, and when you fill it full of gas and shoot it, it sounds and works like a real silenced pistol.

Too cool!

I look forward to sharing info here. Thanks for reading....

Love the silencer. And I believe I've seen that SIS ID before. Hmmm, on another sight perhaps? Over there I'm Donovan Grant. Welcome to the fold.

Thanks for the nice comments. The SIS ID is something I came up with. Previously I worked for the U.S. Treasury and I carried credentials. I thought it would be fun to come up a set for Commander Bond. Although he wouldn't have much occasion to actually carry them undercover, I figured he'd still be issued a set.

I will be posting up a PDF version of the credentials for anyone who wants to reproduce them for noncommercial personal use (don't sell them on eBay please or I will be forced to use my Double-O license). Also, a few people have asked about the MI6 logo on the portfolio in the briefcase picture. I'll be sharing that image soon, too (courtesy of my friend Kurt who created that version).

Check out the rest of my collection at www.jhyphen.com.

By the way, I've become quite friendly with Kev from 007Q-Branch. I'm trying to source more P99 barrel/silencer kits for him. But it looks like they won't be available until May. I got the last two sets from Precision Airsoft, and I'll be sending him one.

Do they offer an option not to get the Q-Branch.com logo and Casino Royale Logo placed on the silencer?
  • jscarlettjscarlett Posts: 51MI6 Agent
    Dave,

Yes, Kev is making me two plain silencers -- one in matte finish and the other with the glossy finish. I know he's rightly proud of his work, but I explained that prop collectors like things to look screen-accurate. He understands, but you have to specify when you order. Also, it's going to be difficult to find the threaded barrel kits -- I think they're out of stock until May when Maruzen ships the next batch. I got the last two kits from Precision Airsoft and I'm sending one to Kev.

Thanks in advance for the PDF of your SIS credentials and portfolio cover. It's very nice of you indeed, and very well done I might add.

I intend to tweak them a little, so consider this version 1.0.

Again, please enjoy for your noncommercial personal use.

Yeah, go on then. I based it on the hideous TWINE one- really needs a re-design:

(These shouldn't be EON images as I made them myself)

Erm... because you'd be profiting from my work without permission and because my work is only based on someone else's design anyway.

True - but as you say, your work includes intellectual property (the photo) which doesn't belong to you anyway. 'Sticky wicket' and all that... :)

Eh? I know- I said that to you! Hence; selling it on eBay would be wrong! What part are you finding it hard to follow?

And no; I wasn't just talking about the photo.

That is done fairly easy, do you have any good source pictures of Pierce Brosnan?

Also, I can create a higher res image of the credentials if anyone wants...

just email me at tpilson (AT) gmail dot com if you want a higher res image.
