Worst Car

I was watching the man with the golden gun the other day,and kept thinking about why bond was using an amc matador as a flying car. It has to be the uncoolest car in the whole series. There has been some real great cars in the series from the aston martin db5 the mustangs and the lotus in tswlm, but a matador yuck!!!!. Any way was wondering what everyones opinion of the worst vehicle in a bond movie was?B-)

I know that is was scaramangas car that was the flying matador, all I meant was what was the worst car in a bond movie, sorry I guess I worded it wrong.:'(
Eon had a $$$ deal with AMC for TMWTGG...ergo, Scaramanga's flying car was an AMC Matador, and Bond's (stolen) barrel-roll jump car was an AMC Javelin, if I remember correctly.
And as for worst...don't know/can't remember/trying to forget the make, :v but it has to be the car in AVTAK which got magically cut cleanly in half as a result of a collision...compared to that one, the AMCs in 'Golden Gun' are Rolls-Royces

I suppose it depends on the context the car is used. It's unlikely there is going to be a DB5 just sitting around that bond can steal.
I thought the new mondeo looked really good. Obviously a big publicity stunt for Mondeo, which I don't like.
Obviously there have been terrible cars which feature in the background. But to pick a more important car. It would have to be the BMW 750iL. Horrible car, and the ridiculous gadgets made it even worse.
What I don't like is when Bond's personal car doesn't fit his cover. Whether you like it or not, the 7-series was the right choice for a banker. But a white Esprit (with British plates) for a Marine Biologist? Or a white Esprit for an assassination in Greece? A Vantage V8 on the streets of Bratislav? Much as I admire some of the Bond cars, they're often the wrong choice for the scene. Q is plainly an idiot.
If you're asking what is the worst vehicle Bond has driven, regardless of context, I'd probably vote for the truck in FRWL.
Thinking about it, there are quite a few Bond that don't feature cars significantly, such as LALD, MR, and LTK.

Stupid car, pointless and silly chase.
"Better make that two."
BTW, call me sad but i quite liked the Renault in AVTAK
I saw an '81 Pacer speeding down the highway the other day and I nearly gagged. Atrocious-looking cars even when they were supposedly in style.

This is the trouble with company's paying for product placement I guess. Sometimes the highest bidder doesn't actually supply the most inspiring product (BMW anyone? 8-) )
I could not agree with you more, you would think that the Bond creators would not just go for the highest bidder, and would use products that would be top of the line the kind that you would put your best men in , and that does not include any amc products:p
Despite reports to the contrary, Vuitton does not yet own Aston Martin. The firm is still in the process of sale and the new owners will be announced during the next two weeks. LV declared interest when the sale was first announced but have now released a statement to say that they withdrew from the auction when the bidding past £400 million. Whether true or not, we're yet to find out.
Oh, and yes - Bond used LV luggage in AVTAK, but I've always regarded it as a one-off as part of his St John Smyth cover. I don't think there's been a reappearance of the luggage brand since.

According to a recent report from Autocar magazine, Aston Martins new owner will be revealed next month and it won’t be luxury goods empire LVMH. The French conglomerate apparently showed interest last autumn but “didn’t even get to first base” a spokesman for LVMH told Autocar.
A new investment fund owned by LVMH boss Bernard Arnault and a Belgian entrepreneur was also thought to have submitted bids, but withdrew when they realized the price would be well over £400 million. In addition, Aston Martin boss Ulrich Bez wasn’t keen on giving control of Aston to a company with zero car industry background.
Of all all the cars he's been given the bmw 750 is definately the ugliest.

...if the product would be top of the line, the company may not feel the need to PAY for a movie appearance.

Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
Because it looked so damn pretty when it was in sight. Compare that to something like the cars in TMWTGG.
Agreed, that the vanish car was a bad idea. But to my opinion, the film grounded, when we all had to see the ugly-animated kite-surfing sequences....

Was that the car in the chase scene that rolls down the hill through some nut pickers. )
If so, I agree that is the worst car.
For the record, I thought the Mondeo looked good and since it was no doubt a rental, it was also appropriate.
