Also, is he wearing black or dark brown shoes in that scene?

By the way, Mantis's photos inspired me, here is my recreated Madagascar outfit:

where did you get that shirt, it looks good, not a tropical one but I like it on its own.

Bought it on eBay, is from J Crew. Not really perfect or anything, but close enough. No idea where you could find it, try eBay. I got it for $8 including shipping.

    Hi Manthis,

In the Bahamas arrival and the Bahamas return,

    Thanks

Hmmm, not too sure but they do look brown to me...

They look black when he is stepping off the plane and dark brown when he is arriving at the hotel. I can never tell which it is! :s

Brown suede, without a doubt. Charles Tyrwhit do a great shoe which matches this perfectly.

    Hey David,

I thought I was obsessive....I own an Omega 2531.80 Persol sunglasses, a Walther ppk and p99...but Ihave a long way to go to catch up to you :)

It's not the amount that makes you obsessive, it's the passion....and it sounds like you have it!

NS, I can't find the link to CT's shoe, it seems they no longer have it in their current line.

That's too bad. What kind of shoe was it?

    Hi,

I wast just browsing around the CT website and there is on a pair of brown suede full brogue shoes under the formal shoes section. I am still not sure if Bond is wearing those..
    What do you guys think?
I bought the linen suit from the baronboutique and the persols, and want match a nice pair of shoes with them..

How does the suit fit? I'm ordering mine soon, and was curious.
  • NightshooterNightshooter In bed with SolitairePosts: 2,917MI6 Agent
I don't believe they've shipped any of them yet- I'm pretty sure mine was the first order, as I requested they make the suit. Anyway, I haven't received mine yet. I'll make a review or something when I get it, though.

I think the shoes being discussed from CT is this pair in brown suede:

    http://www.ctshirts.co.uk/productMSB.aspx?DepGrpCode=MEN&DepCode=MSFS&ProCode=MBTEYE&level1=Men&level2=Shoes&level3=Formal%20Shoes

Although they don't seem to be carrying them in the suede currently, I have a pair and they are very nice boots and also close to what Craig wears in the PTS.

I was hoping ASP was referring to those, as I bought the brown suede pair earlier in the year.

    Yeah, thats them, great boots.

Indeed. Although I'm always afraid of scratching them up.

Any belt suggestions? I assume he is wearing a dark brown suede belt to match... but... you never know.

I will receive mine on the 17th, I will let you know how it fits..

Hmm interesting about the boots.. I will look for them...
  • gonzalc3gonzalc3 Posts: 77MI6 Agent
I haven't received the suit yet, but now on the baron's boutique website they posted some pictures of the suit. The suit itself looks very accurate, however, it seems that the shirt is not fitted. Therefore, it will require some work to get it movie accurate...

Got mine today- the fit is great, and the entire thing is much better than I expected. The shirt is fitted for me, and looks great. I'll post pics once I get it laundered and ironed at the cleaners, but if you're on the fence, I'd say go for it. I'm really happy with my purchase.

Glad they did a nice job.....I have several suits from them and love them all...

How is the white shirt as far as accuracy? Did they put in the shadoweave?
  • NightshooterNightshooter In bed with SolitairePosts: 2,917MI6 Agent
The stripes aren't there, but honestly I didn't notice them on the real thing until really looking, and I am not upset that they don't have the stripes. The weave, otherwise, is great.

I saw the pics on their site...how many buttons did the suit wind up having? Also, the shirt looks too big in the sleeve ara...that, at least should b fitted more...I think if I ordered on I would ask them for a suit with comfortable fit BUT the shirt withe a SNUG/fitteed fit...I am sure they would accomodate...
  • NightshooterNightshooter In bed with SolitairePosts: 2,917MI6 Agent
3 buttons, but, like the actual suit, has a lapel roll to the middle button (Bond only closes the middle one, of course).

I'm sure you could ask them to tighten the sleeve. I don't mind it slightly loose- gives me an incentive to work out!

The CT catalog just arrived and they have the suede boots that look very close to Bond's except they are not chocolate brown. The boots are 25% off right now. I've dealt with CT and they made great shirts - I would imagine the commpany's shoes are of equal high quality.

    David and others,

what do you think of these boots
    http://www.aldenshoe.com/cat_ane5_1494.htm
Although that in this picture is the tan version,
in the store they have a dark brown/chocolate version. They cost like $300 dlls.. Do you think
that they look close enough or still no cigar...

I do believe the title of this thread includes "on a budget" lol, i found an alternative to such an expensive boot from Clark's

    Clark's Original Desert Boot

IMO, $300 dollars for an Alden shoe, which is not worth the price, which also doesn't resemble the John Lobb styling, is not worth it, if you must have a higher end shoe, I'd recommend that you take a gander at the range from Loake, or if you do not find what you are looking for, look at the Dress Boot range from R.M Williams.
