Those people are mean-spirited and jealous, don't listen to them - heck, have any of us got a life when we take the time to post on sites like this :D :))

    hear hear!.....

BTW DZ, I don't know where you get the time to research all this stuff, with or without a life!...

All I can say is I for one enjoy the pieces, and can hardly wait for part 3...that said, take as long as it takes; the reason the first two were so good is that your research is so damn thorough... {[]

besides, life isn't all it's cracked upto be...

LOL, thanks Paul. You of all people understand....actually if you google me you can see what I do for a living and the fact of it is I DON'T have time for these articles and research but as a matter of THERAPY I will throw myself into the hunt just for a little detox time away from work. It doesn't take as much time as one might think and it is amazing what can be done waiting for a plane to take off...;)

Wouldn't care to mention them would you Mantis? (Maybe via PM). I'd be interested in reading their views. Might have one or two words for the defense to contribute to their debate...

I think I know which ones they are. There were two of them on a well known other Bond forum who were being complete fools and quite nasty about Dave's article.

As a result, I no longer post on that forum.
  • The Bond ExperienceThe Bond Experience Newtown, PAPosts: 5,490Quartermasters
Actually, it wasn't another Bond forum (although the one you might be thinking of is filled to the gills with 11 year olds who are quite immature and I don't post there anymore...www.mi6forums.com)

I am afraid I will keep from mentioning the prop collecting site and the two individuals as I consider it water under the bridge and I believe we are all getting too old to hold grudges...

Fair enough, David, I think that's the best policy. A couple of years back on another Bond forum I had some unpleasant comments from a particular member who seemed intent on starting a fight. I know there are members here who've had similar experiences; some rise to the bait, some throw a hissy-fit and leave, and some know they make a valuable contribution that is appreciated by many others

Long may your outstanding work continue.

Has anyone had any experience with Loake shoes? Some of those models mentioned look very much like the JLs, and authentic British is cool. Anyone know if they wear well, look nice in person?

I think the publicity dept took the day off during the Miami scenes. Can't find any solid stills of his outfit from there, and David never mentioned anything about the pants or (I think) shoes. The shots on the DVD are hard to make out - are those pants a light grey or tan/khaki?

    Thanks for any help?

I wear Loake shoes every day at work and think they're great. Good, soft leather; pretty scuffy resistant and very comfortable.

The pants in the airport chase scene are the same ones he wears in the Ocean Club: http://www.ajb007.co.uk/index.php?topic=28654

    Hey, thanks very much!

The reason I'm asking is I'm building a custom figure and I am trying to chase down a pair of pants in the 1/6 scale, and wasn't sure of the color. These look closer to grey, just a lighter grey than his t-shirt...

long time reader of this post. Though I might add what I have come across over the past several months.

my tropical shirt is the "Lenni" from tedbaker.com. the colors and design are near enough. i would not be surprised if the original tropical shirt was a Ted Baker, also.

see bluefly.com for the gucci and prada version of the john lobb shoes with that distinctive narrow toe, though they will still run you $400

Banana republic has several high quality linen short sleeve shirts with design to match your Bahama's return suit. Their linen-cotton boot cut work pant are also a good for the tropic outfit.

I am really wanting to buy the Bahamas arrival suit from Baron's. You both seem happy with your purchase. I worry about cheap material or poor stiching with the job. Should I? Hope to see pics of yours online soon so you can prove me wrong enough to order my own.

    Gentlemen!

Is the suit Craig wears in the last shot of the title sequence seen in another part of the film, or is it yet another separate outfit?

The tropical shirt from the Madagascar chase was hand made using unique bolts of fabric but a theater and movie costuming company so I am afraid we wont find them off the shelf. GREAT recommendations on the Banana linen pants and I will check the out RIGHT away as I am still searching for an adequate pair. As far as being nervous about Baron Boutiques quality----don't be. I have quite a few suits and many shirts from them and they are aomgst my favorite. I realize the cost point makes it look suspicious as far as quality but the cloth, attention to detail, and fit are superior to anything you will find hanging on the racks in the states.

Where can I find the clothing from the train travel scene? I found a shirt from Express that looks very similiar, and it only costs forty dollars, I thought that was very reasonable. By the way hats off to Mantis, you have done a lot of work into putting this together and I very much appreciate it.

Regarding the dark blue suit and shirt from the black and white pre-title sequence. I have found a similar suit here in Malmö(Sweden), at a store called Malmströms. The fabric looks the same and the colour is perfect. It hasn't got the casual look of Craig's suit, as the cut of my suit looks very much like any suit. It's a slim fit suit, and it's got flap pockets, double vents and non-pleated pants as the Craig-suit. It's made by (i think) a company called "Wilhelm of Sweden". I don't know exactly what the fabric type i called, but it's made of 49% polyester, 50% cotton and 1% Elastane. It's not one of theese high-quality suits, but to be honest, i don't think Craig's suit is either :). Besides it's even better looking a bit roughly worn. A light blue linen shirt can be found almost everywere. I bought one at H&M. They also got shirts similar to the one used by Craig as he arrives at the Ocean Club hotel in Bahamas.

Ps. The best with the suit is that the pants can be used with a blue polo shirt and grey t-shirt as the Venice outfit.

Does anybody know what shoes bond wears at the Miami airport scene?

I am also interested in other "casual" shoes he wears. I am in high school and would like to look into something appropriate for school.

Nobody has mentioned alternatives to the omega watches bond wears, so hear it goes. Check out the Bulova 98C61 and 98C62 online. They are really reasonably priced and wont break the bank.

Yeah, and it's articles exactly like that that earns me Amex points but renders me penniless. And I personnally blame you DZ for the fact that I had to buy four pairs of Persols before it was finally decided which colour combination he actually wore. Excellent times, lets start again for 22 {[]

Hi David - just looking at a few old posts, regarding the bathroom scene suit. I have an almost identical one from Hackett in London, a less structured navy Linen suit, its definately not a moleskin or cashmere suit in the film. I have worn mine all over the place travelling for years and they crumple exactly the way the one DC is wearing. Secondly he is wearing a linen shirt also and suede boots, de rigeur for the English gent abroad in warmer climes, its typical "Officer off duty wear". The bad guy is also wearing "warm climate" clothing. I can fire you a picture if you want to see the suit. They are out of season at the moment though.

I had my Persols, but lost them while horseback riding in Punta Cana. Heartbreaking! I'm going to pick up another pair before the summer.

    Mantis,

I see you have expanded your collection since I saw it! Very impressive!!

I'm just a humble newbie here, so I'm sorry if these questions are repetitive, but I was wondering what your experience was with the replica clothing. I see that Baron Boutique now has the suit from the CR finale, along with the Bahamas arrival suit. I know we talked about this briefly, but what do you think of the suits they do?

Also, what about the other replicas like the leatehr jacket? Did you find it to be authentic, and of good quality?

Lastly... (and I know we touched on this too), do you know who does the shirt from the Bahamas gambling scene? I used to be of the school of thought that Bond wore midnight blue, but after seeing the film again on Blu Ray, I'm convinced it was actually black. Do you know the label?

    Thanks! :)
