We think the gambling shirt was a last minute replacement by Alfani...we have good word on this.
I own a few Baron suits and I find them a great quality versus expense buy---if you get my meaning. They also take great pains to put in the little details and quality extras that more famous tailors use.
The leather jacket made by Magnoli is VERY COOL! Took a little bit for me to size it correctly but once it was I love it.
That all being said my next article coming out discusses the replica clothing makers we have access to....

    Awesome! Looking forward to it!

That reminds me, I was reading that you were put off from putting out Part Three of 'On a Budget'. I hope you are getting back on the horse soon. Would love to see Part Three!

And thanks for the great info, as always!

That's awesome. Was it a specific type of Alfani shirt?

If the Sunspel polo is too expensive, Alfred Dunhill is offering a navy pocketed polo that looks about right for $55! It is normally $95. And we all know Dunhill will be doing the clothes for QOS. Just Google Dunhill Navy Polo are you'll find it.

I know its been a while since this topic has been used but just a question on the peacoat. How does this one stack up to the ones overseas.

What is the shirt made of? In the film the fabric seems very soft, like some kind of synthetic.

H&M currently has fitted linen pants in taupe; and I was thinking of pairing them with a custom made black linen shirt for that tropical evening look.

The trouble with the "Bahamas Gambling" shirt is it has to be short enough to wear untucked, slim enough to avoid looking sloppy, and the sleeve length must be perfect. If you have long arms, forget finding a tropical shirt OTR that doesn't fit like a tent.

I have the Dunhill polo and the Sunspel. They are quite comparable in fit and look.

I realize that this thread has been dead for over 2 years now, but with prom & wedding season coming up, I thought I'd post this find.

For those looking to replicate Bond's beautiful CR tuxedo on a budget, Jos. A. Bank offers a good alternative, which is currently on deep discount. http://www.josbank.com/menswear/shop/Product_11001_10050_101786

    For $300, you get:

    -100% Superfine wool
    -Bemberg lining
    -Grosgrain lapels & covered buttons
    -Single-breasted, 1-button, & peak lapels
    -Unvented jacket
    -Single-pleated trousers with grosgrain stripe

Now, obviously this tux won't be Brioni or Tom Ford quality, but that said, I still think it's an excellent deal with all the right details for $300.

Nice mention. It is a nice affordable option to look nice.
