Our deep freeze* is expected to give way to blizzards overnight, and when even my employer issues a weather warning on email urging us all to take care on the roads, they must expect it to be bad...
*as I shuffled across the ice rink that was the road outside my house this morning, to chizzle a few inches of ice off my windscreen, North Ayrshire Council in their infinite wisdom had deployed not a gritter on my street, but a roadsweeper!!! Yes, not content with thawing the ice, they were hell bent on polishing it, so my car could skid down the road with the handbrake on like a curling stone 8-) I do like how our local government is in safe and competent hands.

oof. sounds like quite the adventure you had there, Moonie!
we've just had a small dusting here, but it's freezing over already. My shoes have NO traction, so I basically slid all the way to my last class, almost fell over a few times too. We will probably get more tonight...if we don't, the cold won't be worth it, and I shall get annoyed and loose my early holiday spirit. 8-)
