CR a "disappointment"? TLD "rubbish"? To each his own but I think a viewer who disliked either of those 2 Bond films would probably not care for the Fleming Bond novels either.
Well, to be honest, I haven't read any of the Fleming novels (although I probably will eventually), but while I am not as much of a fan of the Bondian qualities that a fan of the books might be, I don't think it's completely fair that I might not enjoy the novels. Perhaps I just don't think that TLD and CR (particularly TLD) are all that great? :p :D
Personally speaking, I think TLD and CR are the 2 best Bond films made from 1980 onwards. Each one individually is better than all 4 Brosnan Bonds put together IMHO.
IMO the two best Bond films made from 1980 onwards are GE and FYEO. I consider TLD to be the second worst Bond film of all time, with all four Brosnan films superior to it. CR would probably be 13th on my list (I'm yet to decide on CR's final placing on my list) with GE and TWINE both greatly superior to it. I do, however, consider CR to be superior to TND and DAD.

Sorry. ;) I just happen to believe that CR is nowhere near in the same league as any of the 60's films. :p :D

I voted for YOLT, because it's nearly on its death bed, however I would greatly hope that DN does not get eliminated any time soon. I think it would be a great shame if it didn't at least make double-figures. :'(

To me TLD contains what might be the three best sequences of the series (1. the spectacular PTS; 2. the bratislava sequence starting with the ride on the street-car and ending with the escape from Kara's flat [before the gadgets]; and 3. the confrontation with Pushkin in his hotel room in Tangiers). Scenes that take me back to the standards of FRWL.

It's true that the movie loses steam in the end, and the characters of Whitaker and Monneypenney are admittedly disappointing. Bull all in all, while being less consistent than the best Connery movies, and less glamorous (or, let us say, photogenic) than the Brosnans, it is an entry I can watch again and again.

    Don't you guys mean +2, -2?

If so then I consent, provided it starts at midnight GMT on a given day, so that people who vote early in the day don't miss out on anything.

Not crazy about this idea. I think it will be more interesting to keep uniformity and observe how voting patterns change once a film is eliminated. But it's not my game so... I'll submit to the will of the people.

Maybe once we hit the final 5 or something, as it stands right now a few of the films are quite close together. Progress is being made, however, so fear not.
