As long as he doesn't vote twice in one day, why shouldn't he vote twice at all? Or is it because you don't agree with his views?

Hi Dan. I in fact happen not to agree with JFF's views (though I'm grateful for them, since they add a little bit of controversy to the forum). All that, however, is just incidental. If the elimination game turns into a private vendetta, or a need to assert one's views over everybody else's it stops being interesting (to me at least).
It's what I call "hijacking a debate". The fun, for me, is to see what the forum as a community comes up with.
Other than that, I welcome JFF's very strong opinions as I welcome yours.

This movie is atrocious and deserves to DIE X-( X-(
It's not that bad. With all the slapstick Jaws crap, double-taking pigeons and whatnot edited out there's a lot of good stuff in it: a great score, a great villain ("Mr. Bond. You appear with the tedious inevitability of an unloved season."), some great action sequences (the centerfuge, cablecar, the opening sequence), and a decided lack of bras. It's easily Moore's best Bond movie, imho.
Are we supposed to vote daily. That would be pretty stupid because peoples favourite and least favourite are unlikely to change.
You can vote daily, but you don't have to. The idea is to create a list that, to as high a degree as possible, reflects the favorites of the community as a whole. Obviously the more people that consistently play the better. (If you could only vote once the game would take a million years to finish.)
Why doesn't any one else have the guts to blow NSNA away?! Come on, it's terrible!
Two words can describe why I like this film. Sean Connery. -{
Sean Connery is a better Bond than Moore, Brosnan. Period! End of story. His best performance since Thunderball.

They are controversial though. Ranking AVTAK ahead of all the 60s films? And even above all of Moore's films that were actually good? You are entitled to your opinions, of course, but I can't help but point out that you are possibly the first person I have met to seriously advance (and so vehemently) those particular opinions. All of the Bond movies have their champions, but I honestly think a case can be made (or at least once upon a time I did; a truly fair review I suppose would require a another viewing) that AVTAK is objectively inferior to at least a great deal of the other Bond movies. James Bond movies, remember, are ultimately about James Bond (be it the 60s-era ultracool more masculine Fleming Bond of Connery, Lazenby, Dalton and now Craig, or the suave and lighened up superhero type Americanized Bond of Moore and Brosnan)-- and AVTAK is thus far the only movie of the series in which the actor was utterly unsuited to, and thus unbelievable in, the part. For this reason I hold it as the worst film (so far) of the series.
Oh Lazenby; though I thoroughly agree with you, it's obvious you are new. Everyone else learnt a long time ago about JFF's perverse devotion to this most unloved of Bond's children. The fact is that he can bore for Britain on the subject of AVTAK, and as such, it's not worth wasting your breath on him. The thing to do is to nod and smile and ignore everything he says, rather as one would with the strange homeless person who sits next to you on the bus. Then you get off at your stop and take a shower.

Finally, From Russia With Love has hit double figures!
As for Never Say Never Again, I agree with Granitsky. If there is one thing that saves this film for me, it's Sean Connery. Also, as far as I'm concerned, it's better than the rubbish like Die Another Day.

I really like NSNA, feeling it better than its boring counterpart. Connery was certainly a part of it (though I find him really annoying for some reason in this movie). My real saving grace were the delicious performances of Brandauer and Carerra as the villains. You like them so much you're almost rooting for them to win in my book!

Although I don't agee with your descriptions of Moore and Brosnan, I ceetainly agree that AVTAK is terrible. But as has already been stated, JFF's views are well-known on this board. And if I may say so myself, his views are among the reasons why I appreciate this board so much.

Just for the sake of discussion, what part/parts do you disagree with?
Well, a couple of things. One, the idea that they are 'lightened up superheroes.' Perhaps, it's my reflexes kicking into gear, but when I read that, I read 'not tough enough.' That is something I would strongly disagree with. I also don't know how they are more of a superhero than Connnery (GF/TB) and Craig (he's incredibly athletic to say the least.) Not that it's a bad thing. I don't think that Bond being a 'superhero' (f he ever was) is in itself a bad thing. Finally, people refer to them being Americanized, but I honestly don't know what means. The accent? The mannerisms? When I watch Moore and Brosnan, I don't think of American heroes.
I agree that variety is a good thing; that was just one variation I never thought I would come across...
True. My point was however, that for some perverse reason, I have become brain-washed and actually enjoy reading JFF's posts on the merits of AVTAK. )

You like them so much you're almost rooting for them to win in my book!
jetset... I never knew you felt this way.

Although I don't agee with your descriptions of Moore and Brosnan, I ceetainly agree that AVTAK is terrible. But as has already been stated, JFF's views are well-known on this board. And if I may say so myself, his views are among the reasons why I appreciate this board so much.
I agree that variety is a good thing; that was just one variation I never thought I would come across...
Just for the sake of discussion, what part/parts do you disagree with?
True. My point was however, that for some perverse reason, I have become brain-washed and actually enjoy reading JFF's posts on the merits of AVTAK. )
