No. Actually not. In my correspondance with Sir Miles, I made it very clear that I only wanted the "TheWizard" account gone (as in deleted), and actually made it quite plain that I had no problem at all with you staying on. I wanted you exposed...not exiled.

If you did...are you sure this guy is a Fabbri employee? Or perhaps you misinterperted what he had to say (i.e. something else being done for Bond 23 unrelated to the JBCC and perhaps even unrelated to model cars)?

If they do anything, I think the smartest thing for them to do would be to take the previously-suggested 1-year hiatus, keep everyone on a subscriber list, and then just do some cars for Bond 23 and call it a day. Their manufacturer doesn't seem to be capable of keeping a schedule and has at least two new partworks on the horizon (plus once they go full into 1/18 scale cars, I can tell you Ixo is going to get even slower...right now, they've only done some Ladas, a SEAT, and I think a Fiat 124, but that line will get MUCH larger). Fabbri may be able to keep an open mind, but will already-strained Ixo be able to meet its demand? As has been suggested, Hongwell certainly hasn't been alienated by Fabbri, but negotiating a contract and getting prototypes out takes time...and I can't imagine that striking a deal with Hongwell wouldn't leak out, either. Besides, Hongwell has actually refused a few partworks as of late (and not just former East Bloc...). I don't pretend to know why, but they have. Just my two cents.

There is a much better solution, Dalkowski. We waited 4 decades or so for the first 007 model car partwork, why not wait another 40 years until there is enough material for another 110? By then no doubt Fabbri will be able to establish a successful relationship with a few quite new diecast manufacturers. The problem with reviving the series after Bond 23 is that then you should be doing this after each new Bond movie - and there will probably be a few more before the franchise winds down (as it must).

Welcome back under your real name. But look, on any forum you go to, even FACT conceded you'd receive some kind of disciplinary action for a "sock" account.

CONCEDED? I conceded nothing, Dalbowski110. That is an unjustified choice of word when I'm on record a few posts higher up agreeing with the very disciplinary action that Sir Miles took.

You either have a poor grasp of vocabulary or you have a very good grasp of vocabulary and just choose to be provocative in your choice of words. And it's far from the first time either ... but consider this a once-off acknowledgement of your ability to needle. I do understand why some posters prefer not to share a forum with you. I prefer to be here despite you.

I & no doubt many of the posters here will be glad to see the end of the collection, because this forum has developed into a "Bitch-Fest"....The collection seems to be secondary for some people!!..No Names..No Pack-Drill X-( X-( X-( -{ :007)

One seems to be a second 1/8 scale car, as Jag indicated a while back. It may or may not be Bond, though, given the choices that were offered.

Very true. One wonders, though, if they were trying so hard in stalling and delaying to get to Bond 23 if they've become a bit single-minded in their approach to it. I can point to some other partworks that were "on hiatus" up to 6 months, though admittedly none for as long as a full year. I do agree with you here; I really, really doubt we'll see anything past 110...I'm just wondering a bit how much (if anything) Fabbri has invested in Bond 23 promos, etc.

All right, time to pull out the dictionary...

1.Admit that something is true or valid after first denying or resisting it
    - I had to concede that I'd overreacted
    - that principle now seems to have been conceded

    2.Admit (defeat) in a contest
    - he conceded defeat

    3.Admit defeat in (a contest)
    - ready to concede the gold medal

4.Surrender or yield (something that one possesses)
    - to concede all the territory he'd won

5.Grant (a right, privilege, or demand)
    - their rights to redress of grievances were conceded once more

I was going for meaning number four with intonations of meaning number five applicable as well, as I am rather fond of using it. To be brutally honest, I've never HAD anyone react to my use of that word in that way. Going to question my vocabulary again? I won't question yours, though you've certainly given me ample grounds to if you persist in such silliness...read whatever non-existent hidden messages you want into my posts, just don't bother me with your conclusions.

All I want to know is news & comments concerning the JBCC,nothing else. The constant bickering between some of the Forum members is becoming very tedious and it is spoiling it for the rest of us.I don't particularly want to read these posts and I suspect most other forum members, do not either.

  • This i hope will be my only message on this forum. This forum was for discussing the James Bond Car collection. It is not for certain members D110 to use as a soap box for their attacks on other members just because they dont agree with you. This line of topics as Winnie has posted is tedious and has gone on for too long. The collection will end soon and hopefully if certain people want to continue with their long diatribes they will do it on another forum.
As you may not have noticed because you have been for to long attacking each other in a certain piece of business news it was revealed that Eaglemoss were in discussion with Fabbri to take over their business. That hopefully will be an end to it all

    Thank you

    1) Put aside the vitriol, please. I think it's rather clear, also, that Winnie didn't attack me as you're doing. Rather, he just wants this to end. I don't blame him, because so do I. So why prolong it with this blatantly-angry post, despite your calling for an end to it? I don't care who you are right now, though I've got a darn good idea (with a certain degree of irony)...but I'm going to call hypocrisy on this one. You complain about returning to normality and you post this? Are you serious?
    2) Eaglemoss' acquisition of Fabbri sounds a bit more like a merger...
    http://www.oft.gov.uk/shared_oft/mergers_ea02/2011/Eaglemoss.pdf

Eaglemoss also owns holdings in Altaya, but I don't believe they actually are majority owners. The document above definitely looks to be a proposed merger rather than an actual buyout; note the repeated usage of the term.

Arrrgh the joys of accessing the forum underground! Lol
    Read will inspire and customers!

Just to continue a customer base already in place is easier to sell to than marketing a product to new customers. I think I said this in earlier post in the good ole days in the 70's when the collection was nearing a close at 90 or something. When forum users were placid quiet collectors not the rebel it's made me now! Lol

That could be true, but looking at the Office of Fair Trading document, it appears that aside from retention and finishing of existing partworks, most of this is just renaming to get Eaglemoss/Aurenis expanding into new geographic areas and, more importantly, working with Fabbri's resources for new partworks (i.e. bullet point number two on point number four of page 2 of the PDF). They could attempt to launch JBCC in a different country, but that would require the cooperation of Universal Hobbies. If they do what is typical and retain the same people for the management of the JBCC partwork, you still have the burnt bridges. Re-shuffling the deck in terms of management would get them somewhere, admittedly, but Eaglemoss would need time to do that. However, the Office of Fair Trading approved the merger on December 17, 2010. From all outward appearances, they had a chance to re-shuffle the deck, didn't, and it's seemingly come and gone. The final decision I've linked to was published on January 17, 2011, as well.

The difference between Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, an obvious sock account, and yourself would be that I don't think anyone was aware you'd receive an IP ban. From the bottom of my heart, I am sorry you were banned via IP address...I certainly didn't know and neither did you. TTSS, on the other hand, has been reading this forum and must know...

I, for one more, am totally fed up with this load of argumentative bollocks.
It's not clever - it's boring. I used to really enjoy this forum ... when it was about the collection. Now, I don't enjoy it at all.

As regards this post, I really don't want a reply, a mention, a quote, an analysis, a quip, a critique, riposte, definition, etymological surgery or any bloody response at all.

    Cheers,

Not just me then ...mr moderator!

Ok saw Pixar's 'CARS 2' on Monday. Nice homage to Bond with Finn McMissile (Michael Cane) character depicted as an
Aston martinesque complete with all the gadgets. The bad guys are all depicted as eastern bloc motors ! Lots of great marques featuring in the fil with obvious diecast models to be released

Watchout for David hobbscap the light weight e type.
Lewis Hamilton played by Lewis Hamilton the new mclaren
Mp3. Prince wheeliam the bentley GT and her majesty the
Queen as a rolls Royce of course. The movie is fantastic even to car spot as most companies wanted their product included. Maybe another collection me thinks

Diecast007....lets try and clear a few things up....

It's your own fault that you have to sit in your car to access AJB...if you hadn't been so silly as to open a second account (on your own PC & using your own email address 8-) ), then you would still be able to post in the comfort of your own home !!
I could have banned BOTH your accounts but decided to be lenient and just close your second one down. I've tried to re-instate your IP address and will continue to do so....and just whom else is going "to get a ban like me" ? Are you saying the people you mentioned have duplicate accounts here at AJB like you ? And explain what you are "going public" on exactly ?

This thread is getting away from the topic...and will be closed if it continues to do so...so, if anybody else has anything to add I suggest you do it to me via the PM system.

As for Tinker Sailor Soldier Spy....I wonder just whom you are too... :v

What is rather OTT ? The fact you BROKE forum rules even though you read them ??? The forum is set up to BAN people that break the rules, not give them second chances...unfortunately, I tend to give second chances...even third and fourth chances too.

Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum.

I've just had to phone the UK subscriptions helpline as my card credit that I've paid all series long with, has been scammed. I like the rest of you thought there was only 3 more issues left to pay for. However the lady I spoke to, says it's now official the collection is being extended to 130.

Has anyone else been told this?
