Yes, that's the final three issues in the bag for me, I picked up the RR earlier today B-)
Now I am looking forward to taking a break from work in about a month's time when I'll have time to sort through my complete collection, sift out the duplicates and sell on the dupes I won't be keeping.

Neat covers (and models), DDenis. I may not comment every time you post new ones, but I DO appreciate the work you put into them and that you are sharing them with us.

That non-gadget Jaguar looks to be a possible Code 3 for me to try in the future, a neat idea {[]

Fact, I will need to re-read the thread again. I didn't know MCF had done a gadgetless V8?

I did three variants based on the LD Vantage, one of them totally 'gadget-less':

    Vantage_02_008a.jpg

    Vantage_Feb13_A.jpg

The write-ups and pics are on pages 223, 247 and 248.

I just had a survey questionnaire from Eaglemoss asking if I might be interested in buying into a partwork that will build a 3D printer of all things. Totally agree about DDenis's work too. The postings are much appreciated and I look forward to seeing any new ones as and when they come along. Great work DD!

    Thanks MCF {[]
Nope, neither of those collections has made to South Africa as yet (and Dr. Who is probably a bit too obscure for this market as it's only available on pay channels here).
The local distributor has just launched "Your Model Railway Village" which I seem to remember is about six months old in the UK - it's vaguely interesting, but apart from the fact that I have no space for a model railway layout at present, knowing upfront that it's going to be 120 issues, making for 4½ years of collecting ... er, no thanks, not again!!

I'd be interested in acquiring a 3D printer ... but not as a partwork ... er, no thanks, not again!! :p

As for other partworks currently on the go here, the only one I'm still cherry-picking the occasional issue from is AmerCom's Helicopter Magazine partwork of 1:72 scale helicopters - the RAF Puma is the next issue (#27) here and that's a definite one for me. It looks like the partwork ended at 40 issues in the UK (quite recently), so unless Australia goes beyond that figure it looks like our series will also finish at 40, around the end of this year. Australia is about 7 issues ahead of us.

Interestingly it seems that the Aussie market produces enough demand for partwork companies like AmerCom to produce additional issues beyond what e.g. the UK gets in the same publication (e.g. Aussies got 64 issues for The Fighter Collection where the UK got 60).

Interesting what you say about partworks in Australia... We really appear to be swamped with them, with a new one appearing every few weeks. Cooking, sewing, collecting, constructing...

The Model Railway Village one has just started here, and the first issue looks nice, but 120 issues at $20 makes well over two grand – you can have a much better layout for less money and less time. For someone into railways though, it may be worth cherry-picking bits and pieces.

Amercom’s Helicopter Collection and Fighter Collection are still here. The models are of varying quality though, and they seem to be packed before the glue dries, which results in warped parts – especially the undercarriage sections – of most of them. So I don’t think they are such a bargain as they may seem. It would make more sense for me to sell them in separate parts for assembly at home.

3D printer... as a partwork??? Seriously?

    Hello to all,

Thanks for your comments, it is nice to see that JB car collection is not finished yet...

Thunderbird 2, to answer to your question (how did you get it to look so "ordinary?"Usually it is a tough call to remove added features and keep a vehicle model looking fresh and unaltered?), it was not to difficult for the Jag. machine gun is easy to dismount and the rockets on each side also. What is 'long' is to adapt the small green part of the doors to the exact size of the 'hole'... 'patience' is a good word for that...

Next mag of 'old' model' below. To be continued...

Interesting, I didn't realise the Jaguar was part of the car park collection at the start of DAD. Could have been a nice vehicle hint to eho Graves really was...

Speaking of nice convertables, I have now secured the fifth of my six key Bond cars, the V8 Volante from TLD. I can live with the incorrect back end, and the picnic hamper on the back seat and clear background of Blayden Manor (ie Stonor House) is nicely done. One thing I don't get though. Why is the rear reg plate white?
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

Well, I've decided to stop by to see how our continuation of the partwork is going and to report on a few new items that you may be able to put into these Code 3s of ours. Not many, but a few.

Possibly the biggest announcement is Matrix Models doing a 1971 Ford Custom and announcing that apparently, the SFPD will not be the only police livery. If they make Las Vegas or Clark County Sheriff's Dept., you have the tail car for the '71 Mustang Mach 1.

The extension of the Polish Kultowe Auta PRL-u partwork past 200 (and going amazingly smoothly!) means they'll do the communist leaders' cars. Boleslaw Bierut had a 1941 Chevrolet Special De Luxe two-door sedan as one of his two favorite cars (the other being a 1947 Chevrolet Fleetline Sportmaster four-door sedan). You can see this exact model of car in DAD in Cuba on the beach.

Remember the cars driving alongside Bond in MR in Brazil? Turns out Ixo did the Volkswagen T2 Kombi (the correct, Brazilian version in the same colors as the one in the film!) a while ago. It's part of the Carros Inesqueciveis do Brasil partwork and a truly superb model. It was also released as part of a Chilean sister partwork and can generally be found for less in that form.

The Shanghai-Volkswagen Passat LWB Taxi from Skyfall (you're thrilled to get a car that wasn't just driving by the camera by now, I'm sure) actually is possible, but the model you base it on is quite difficult to actually get. It's only a Shanghai-Volkswagen dealer promo, although given that you can get one in white, you don't have to repaint, just make decals. You'll also have to make a taxi sign, although that would be considerably harder. Just make sure you don't mess up: they START at about $45 USD shipped.

Remember the '77 Cadillac Fleetwood limo from AVTAK? I believe GLM is planning one, same colors. Your only modification would be the license plates. How about the bridge-climbing SFPD Dodge Diplomat? Well in what might be the only one of these that was actually repeatedly asked for, American Heritage Models/First Response Replicas (or whatever they're calling themselves these days) has the SFPD Diplomat out, same as you see that gets caught at the top of the bridge in the film.

Hope you enjoyed and yes, I'm still here.
By the way, are you gonna eat that?

    Hello to all,

Please find here a new release. Thanks Dalkowski110 for your information. I still continuing to look for new model relative to Bond movies, but I also keep in mind the price, expecially for 'background' models.
    Some work to do again...
    Waiting for other code 3....
    Cheers.

Welcome to the thread Redneck, and what an entrance to make! The QOS Aston Martin DBS 'stunt driver's rig' is brilliant and I love the idea of doing a series of these weird looking machines {[]

After you finish the GE Ferrari version, how about having a go at the SF Land Rover one?

Thank you very mutch, first time for me on a foreign forum, i love your dioramas improvements, i'm disappointed that the fabbri dioramas were badly finished without characters toward the end...
There is also a french forum like yours:
    http://www.forum-auto.com/automobile-pratique/modelisme-modeles-reduits/sujet682-5285.htm#haut
Finally why don't make our own cars whith this kind of theme?
I finished the GO ferraris but i've got a little problem whith the windscreen, it's broken.
The SF land rover is very hard to find in France, and the wheels are very specials, but why not?
    I like challenges!

Very nice work, DD {[] It's always good to see the non-mainstream Bond movies featured. - As for your choice of Bond girl photos - wow!

On the non-mainstream Bond movie theme, I seem to remember reading that the AM DB5 made an appearance in a Man From UNCLE movie with Lazenby as James Bond - anyone know if that's true? If so, would that make it the most obscure official appearance of a Bond car?

Excellent diorama of the LALD bus, DDenis {[]
I bid on an unboxed example of that Solido bus recently but it went too high for what it was, unfortunately. I had more in mind the sort of conversion that MCF did some time back, though.

So 26 Code 3 issues beyond where Eaglemoss ended off already and still scope for many more!

Thanks for the tips posted earlier, D110 - unfortunately the only thing I can add to that is that Oxford is pushing out more versions of that Humber Pullman casting of theirs, there's an ambulance due shortly, so it's only a matter of time before they do a hearse - the real DN over-the-cliff hearse!

I'm starting to see an downward trend in secondhand JBCC prices, looking at online auctions and fairs that I've attended lately. If this is a general trend it should make finding models for Code 3 work a bit easier. Two dealers that I buy from regularly have both recently acquired large sets (incomplete ones, missing the final issues) which they are selling off at a uniform price below original retail cost.

Glad I could be of some help! They're also going to re-release the partwork, apparently, to the American firm Diecast Direct thanks to having so much stock left over, especially from the UH issues. It's not a true re-release, but rather dumping stock. If any cherry-pickers missed a model they'd like (I can think of four I'd like), this will probably be their chance to get it. In addition to the QC-problem-plagued UH issues beyond 65 or so where you can likely buy up a second model if yours was defective, we also get the much-better-done early UH issues that we can revisit. Apparently, Ixo's issues will not be distributed in the same quantity, although they will be there. If you missed one of those, likewise, here's your chance to get it.

Good to hear about a potential Humber Pullman Hearse! :-)
