There's no reason why the Bond in Motion partwork shouldn't go ahead, Fabbri and Eaglemoss have commissioned models from all 50 movies between them .......
I think you just doubled EON's total output there, MCF :)

Yes, I also wouldn't be surprised to see the partwork relaunched after this time. Eaglemoss (and their few remaining competitors) have shown that they will flog whatever mileage they can get from any of the castings available to them, so why not with these ones? I wonder whether there will be a mix of IXO and UH again, though - it appears to be UH only so far.

One also wonders just how much stock IS left over from the earlier runs? The JBCC partwork ran in several countries and was launched in Czech Republic right towards the end of its UK run (IIRC). So they were doing what they could back then to move the stock. Also consider that Eaglemoss's online shop has been out of stock of many of the back issues for a long time already.

Remember when the Ford Anglia was issued with the wrong film on the base? I remember thinking at the time how it had obviously been easier for them to order up a whole new batch of models & bases rather than just sending out replacement bases. Which makes me wonder if it's not just the plastic outer blister that is new for these Bond In Motion models, but also the whole model inside that blister. Those gold-coloured Subscribers Specials would have to be new productions, not some old models that got shipped back to China for a new paint job ;)

And as for those magazines, what's to stop them just re-using the content from the JBCC magazines, it's not like there's been any new material discovered in the past 8 years for the background stories of Goldfinger and all those other early movies!

Now here's an idea! Has anyone secured the No 1 from the Bond In Motion test run, and compared the magazine content to No 20 from the JBCC? That would answer that question! :)
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

Oops!!! - it really isn't a good idea to post in a hurry without re-reading, is it? ;% I meant to put '50 years of movies' - in other words Eaglemoss obviously have all of the 50 years worth of Bond movies well covered with models, apart from Skyfall.

Interesting point. I presume they could cover all of the Bond movies using UH models alone, couldn't they?

Maybe they might have been in some way obligated by consumer regulations to replace the entire Anglia model, including sealed blister packaging, rather than just the base?
Re the Bond in Motion releases it's possible they could supplement existing unsold stock with identical new models or just re-stock with identical models, it would avoid any major new licence issues if it's effectively just another 'production run' being commissioned.

I would bet they will probably use the same illustrations, photos and text (where the existing licencing deal permits) and just re-arrange them a bit.

This is code 3 TAMIYA 1/10 JEEP WRANGLER 'ROCK CRAWLER', it took me three months restoring a standard kit upgrading motor, suspension , steering, full working lights and electric winch. Graphics were made for me as were reg plates and in car ID badge. I had to source the interior from the US . The car is a nod to Jurassic Park with certain artistic license including paint scheme and Jeep spec. I think it looks ok. I know not James Bond but thought some of you may be interested . I have another project to replicate 1/10 CHEVY blazer from BOND .

For those of you wondering if the magazine content is the same as before - issue 1 is completely shown on the website.
I just don't have my copy of the JBCC DBS magazine at hand.

Hi guys! This is rather exciting, isn't it!
I just checked my JBCC magazine issue 20 and the DBS car review pages (4 &5) are exactly the same content & photo, just changed font and styling. The record-breaking DBS stunt roll pages are similar too - but all the other content is different ... Without trawling through every JBCC issue, though, I can't say the rest isn't a rehash compiled from other previous issue content.
Interestingly, they do mention boats and planes on the website, so it's not just a car collection, it's 'Bond In Motion'. Maybe trucks and buses will finally feature?
Very tempted to subscribe but expect the majority of models will be re-releases from JBCC. Though Skyfall and Spectre vehicles should feature now ... The FAQs page states that the "collection is only available in the UK at the moment".
Lastly, the website shown on the mag photos inside front cover isn't live yet, i.e. www.007die-cast.com.
    Best wishes, Rhinoman B-)

Should mention also, some of the free gifts if you do subscribe, via http://007car-collection.com/ :

The special DB5 and RR Phantom models are described as "gold-painted"! Looks more like banana yellow to me haha.

    Welcome back Rhino man! {[]

I realise the special DB5 and Rolls Royce models are probably only pre-production mock-ups but they do look strange, a bit like they've been through a caramel car wash apart from the lights, tyres and licence plates.

I did actually suggest many moons ago that Fabbri/Eaglemoss could have created a Goldfinger RR with partial gold being shown, as per the gold smuggling concept in the movie, but covering the entire thing in gold paint including the roof is going a bit far methinks.

I think they'd both look better presented like the Corgi gold DB5, with chromed parts being left in chrome.

Always trying something different, this is my next Bond project . . .

    Airfix_BN_Islander_kit_-_small_file.jpg

OK, the box is a little dented, the plastic colour is terrible but the parts seem to be all there. Yes, it will be built with wings.

    And it was only $15.00!
  • MovieCarFanMovieCarFan Posts: 973MI6 Agent
That is a VERY bright yellow, it's going to need another $15.00 spent on multiple coats of black paint! Can't wait to see the finished project.....

I would certainly spray with grey primer first - then two coats of black should do the job!

Guys, I'm looking for a couple of the original magazines to finish out a collection:
    72, 116, 117, 124, and 125.

If you have spares, please let me know!

Also, I have a ton of extra cars, backgrounds, baseplates, etc. Let me know if you're looking for something.

Just stepping away from the JBCC/BIM theme for a bit, I see that Corgi is now planning a Thunderball 50th Anniversary edition of the 1/43 Aston Martin DB5 casting that has seen such mileage in 2015.

ICYMI, the Goldfinger 50th Anniversary version was released as CC04203 towards the end of January 2015 and then re-issued without the anniversary stickers as CC04204 & then again as CC04205 (although the differences between the last two are not at all obvious) ... all with silver and gold versions, in the ratio of 5:1.

The packaging for the proposed new release, CC04206, is largely the same as the previous three but differs in terms of colours, dropping the yellow & using silver in its place & swapping the blue for a darker blue. Unfortunately my Postimage account has disappeared since I last used it here so I can't share.
It will apparently also be made as 5 silvers to 1 gold.

Not sure what market Corgi is chasing with all of these DB5 re-issues ... and unless they are getting this model to market in January they run the risk of missing the Thunderball anniversary boat anyway (released December 1965).

Thanks for the info, FACT - although there were no gold 04205, only silver.

This gold 04206 was just listed on ebay:
