Cut scenes...

Months before the release, I remember seeing several pictures of Vesper and Bond, with Vesper wearing an almost '40s style coat and tilted hat. Anyone know what happened to this segment? Because I loved her in that outfit.

I have pictures from the cut sequence you mention of them getting off the train and into the car at Montenegro.
Also on the cutting room floor is the segment detailing Bond at the Cricket Pavilion before his messy bathroom assassination.
A sequence was also cut of Bond being rushed to hospital in an ambulance as well as footage cut from the Aston chase sequence.
Shame none of these appear on the DVD.

The movie poster has Bond and Vesper embracing in the ocean (remember the Behinds-The-Scenes photo of Eva Green running onto the shore with very little on up top :o ) well that too was cut from the film.
But, maybe these scenes will appear on the Casino Royale 1.5 DVD (which will no doubt be released just before the next Bond film, just like Spider-Man 1.5, and Spider-Man 2.5).

I can remember one other scene that ended up on the cutting room floor. The scene involves Bond & Vesper on a boat, they then go skinny dipping in the water.

Edit: Too late, asio beat me to it.

I'm curious about the circumstances of the cut scenes now. Tell tell.

Shame on EON for not including these scenes on the DVD. I've said that about 10 more minutes of romance would make the film better, and I'm guessing the cut scenes with Bond and Vesper would amount to that. The pavillion scene could be flashback.

There was also the scene from the trailer where Bond rips the playing card in two.

I'm sure down the road, these lost scenes will find their way into the director's CR DVD, or the Ultimate CR DVD, or Definitive CR Dvd..you get the point or the next time they release new box sets. Remeber, it's all about making more money ;)

In the script, the first time Bond is seen, he's a shadowy figure in a crowd of spectators at a cricket game in Pakistan...Bond pursues the guy into the restroom, and violence ensues.

I would have liked to see the cricket sequence, just for the sake of something interesting and heretofore unseen in a Bond film...

Hm, the words "cricket" and "interesting" appearing in the same sentence? Is this a first? :)

    ;% Well, I'm a Yank (and a baseball fan), so there's a 'novelty' factor...

Cricket isn't too big here in sunny Scotland- baseball isn't either, come to think of it- possibly because we're not very good at it and we know it! (Unlike football- soccer to you guys- which we're also not very good at but don't know it...)

Well when you think of scotland, sport is not usually the first thing that springs to mind =D

I can see why the cut the cricket scene, it IS very similar to the beginning of the Madagascar chase scene.

Well, the movie's terrific without them. That's not the point, though. In a movie of this high of caliber, it'd be interesting to see deleted scenes because they are no doubt very well done and they add to the story. And we're rabid Bond fans here, gotta get our hands and eyes on everything. :007)

You can read the 2005 version of the script here.

A lot of dialogue was cut and while I agree with some of it, others I felt really could have added something. Also, there were a lot of moments where in both the poker game and the romance between James and Vesper where there were scenes to show that there had been a time lapse. I also love what Vesper says to Bond right before the elevator drops, and that was cut as well.

Well, bits I know were filmed and are missing from the movie (rather than bits in the script which may not have been filmed) include:

Bond and Vesper driving the Aston through the countryside with Bond noticing Vesper checking her out (as seen filming on Fifth Gear- lovely helicopter shots of the Aston driving along)

    Bond and Vesper's naked swim

    The torn ace

Bond falling down the steps of the casino after being drugged

The tanker driving through a plane's fuselage during the chase

The exterior of the cricket club in Pakistan and the beginning of the fight, including the two men losing their guns

Bond's arrival on a stretcher at the hospital

Valenka's swim (underwater stuff was filmed)

When Bond and Vesper are in bed in Venice, she snaps a picture of him before leaving. Later, when Bond is on the phone with M, he's looking at the pictures on the laptop and flings it into the water, where it shorts out. This footage was in the Sony promo.

Bond and Vesper disembarking the train at the station in Montenegro (including a rather funny exchange about a secret agent's tax return)

The scene where Bond meets and replaces the poker player Bliss on the train (actor Con O'Neil was cast in this part so presuambly the scene was cut)

The shot of Craig's face in close up, while sparks from bullet ricochets go off in the background as seen in the slo-mo bit of the trailer

The shot of Dryden walking across the lobby from the trailer isn't in the film

    Any others?

Im not sure how the pre title sequence took place. It details the killing of both the contact and the MI6 agent, and was always supposed to end with the death of the first one. However, maybe the cricket pavilion sequence was just a longer version of what we see in the film.
