"A View To A Kill": Words & Music by Duran Duran and John Barry.
This is the official credit, although Simon Le Bon (as he says in the video "The name's Bon..." :007)) is on record as minimising Barry's input. "He didn't really come up with any of the basic musical ideas", according to the singer, "...he gets half a writing credit but all he really did was make sure he was able to use what we wrote later in the film."
Whether John Barry agrees with this point of view is not, as far as I know, on record, but I'd be inclined to doubt if he would.
Let's not get into that...
If you take my advice, be patient.
These are the tracks JB cut during his time with the Ember label, and include the "Zulu" soundtrack as well as "Elizabeth Taylor In London" (which is where tracks with titles such as "Fire Of London" and "The London Theme" originate from). Nowadays these tracks can be found on myriad albums usually at budget prices and often with poor sound quality.
The above album doesn't include such material and is culled from several different labels (although it's impossible to keep up with record company politics/mergers/takeovers).
