IMDB Bond rankings...

The IMDB, given the thousands of voters, is easily the best assessment of what the unlettered public thinks of the Bond films. As to be expected CR is right at the top (no doubt because it's so new). I was a little surprised that Goldeneye was ranked the best Brosnan movie (and, alas, not at all surprised that the masterpiece OHMSS was ranked so comparatively low). That being said, apart from some personal touches (OHMSS, TND and MR should be ranked higher; GE, LALD, TSWLM should be lower and LTK and TLD should switch places) it's actually a pretty fair assessment methinks.

Not in my estimation it's not.
Did you give up on the Game?
And to me, Goldeneye is my definition of THE Bond movie. It's my favorite, fast cars, beautiful and dangerous women, a villain with quite a few tricks up his sleeves and hidden secrets of his past, an innovative score and everything! No shock it's ranked so highly, as well as TSWLM. And yes, CR is ranked highly because it's so new.
And also because it's the best Bond film in nearly 40 years.
I kid of course, you're entitled to your opinions!
I suppose it's just a coincidence that every other poll, ranking, survey done on the Bond films places it at or near the bottom as well? )
So, for a more LETTERED -- or, shall we say, qualified -- opinion :007) I suggest you take into consideration the opinions and tastes of more committed Bond fans as expressed by the ajb007 community (particularly, by its Dalton-loving faction).
Apropos, a few months ago I worked out a statistical analysis of the favourite Bond films of the members of this forum based on 54 randomly selected lists. Admittedly, the statistical validity of that exercise is questionable, but the results are surprisingly similar to those that emerge from the elimination game.
I think the link should be something like this: http://www.ajb007.co.uk/index.php?topic=28044&cpage=1
Now, I wonder, what does that say about your tastes?
Switch LALD and GE with MR and TND and it's the same for me.
No, it doesn't. That being said you should come vote.
My tastes on the other hand are very VERY different and interesting. I forget where it was but there was a thread called "Which Type of Bond Fan are You" and I made one called "THE JFF" since none of the ones described me.
No major surprises but there are films that are not exactly where I would anticipate them to be (based on other ranking lists). For example, DAF & TMWTGG are both approx five places higher while TLD & TWINE are both approx five places lower.
I am not one for ranking lists. For sure, I have my favourite's like TSWLM, GF, and least favourite's like NSNA, TND, but there's no way I could honestly rank all the Bond films from 1-22.
Also one of the best in the series. His other three are three of the worst...
Yuck!
It's actually a 7.9 if you account for the disgruntled Connery fanboys.
I would raise these by 1.0 each. The other ratings, I mostly agree with.
Here's a more up-to-date list, from last year.
