Well, gang, Pierce-B is a semi-regular here and he's had good dope before ("dope" being slang for information, not for anything else), so don't discredit him yet. But a male Moneypenny? Well, it IS April Fool's Day, isn't it?

April 1st is my wife's birthday...therefore, we don't observe April Fools' Day at my address...

    Thanks anyway!

If Moneypenny is a name and not a title, someone had to father her.... :v :)) ;)

Good dope yes, also wonky dope: Brosnan back for CR comes to mind...

Well, I'm hoping this is "wonky dope".

"Nowhere to Run" would be an extremely boring and generic title for Bond 22.

Wasn't that a 70s tune? Used in the film THE WARRIORS, as I recall...

That's just the working title. It may change slightly or completly.

Damn -- I was just about to kick back and enjoy the panic that the idea of a male Moneypenny was bound to cause, and it's a joke.

I can only hope the Q news is a joke as well. Given that W&P have been pretty emphatic that the book on Q was closed, if they've already caved on that issue, it doesn't bode well for the new, back-to-basics Bond. I'm not in a panic yet, but a little apprehensive. There's still plenty of time for them to sell out completely. On the other hand, if it works with the story, and we don't get the usual, tired old Q schtick, I could live with it.

The gun isn't invisible is it? :#

yeah, ill buy into this. After all, it was Pierce - B all those years who told us that Bond gets captured in DAD.

No John Cleese - that would be a shame, also whats this about a new gun? Did he have a PPK in the last flick.

"Nowhere To Run" or its variants is perhaps the worst Bond title since "No Deals, Mr Bond". One can only hope this is part of the joke.

Or since Die Another Day or Tomorrow Never Dies in movie terms

Regarding a possible title for Bond 22, I have one request: That it not contain the word die. Two of the three titles to feature the word die (TND and DAD) were IMO the two worst Bond titles of all time. The only reason I think that Live and Let Die is a great title because IMO it was a really creative, evocative and, quite simply, a cool title.

Heh heh, the only thing missing now is some rumor that there might not be a Bond Girl for Bond 22! Bond goes solo...

This may not be unconnected to the fact that Live And Let Die was thought up by the man who thought the whole thing up in the first place, while Tomorrow Never Dies (and of course the story goes that even this was a typo) and even worse Die Another Day were thought up in the era when marketing men and publicity departments had begun to rule the roost.

Wasn't there a 'straight to vid' Van Damme movie called 'No where to Run'?

Perhaps even Bruce Springsteen could sing the theme tune?

To which, can I add the word Kill? Yes, James Bond is dangerous; don't push it with another Tomorrow Never Dies Another Day With A View To A Licence To Kill type name...

Of course. I think that having a Fleming-type title is of enormous importance. I mean, while I'm yet to read a Fleming novel, I consider several of his titles to be among the greatest and most interesting titles of all time. A perfect example is The Spy Who Loved Me. Compare that to Die Another Day. 8-) I hope, though, that regardless of what title the producers pick, that they don't try to insert it into the plot like in DAD. I would much rather a title that doesn't make sense (LALD) than one that is the subject of a terrible one-liner. :# Perhaps Bond 22 will be called Casino Royale 2? :D (Just kidding. I hope. ;))

Indeed they have been encorporated into the film terribly in DAD and TWINE. I held my head in shame when he uttered those to times.

There's a thread somewhere about the titles being shoehorned into the scripts. If memory serves this laboured exchange between Max Zorin and May Day in AVTAK was generally considered the worst example:

    Zorin: "What a view."
    May Day: "To a kill."

    :s

(Heads off into music forum as JFF appears to defend this dialogue)

I didn't mind that. It was considerbaly better placed than DAD and definitely TWINE which is the worst imo. Pierce even said it as if he felt it was so bad he was uncomfotable saying it.

Wasn't Bond meant to be uncomfortable at that point, and Brosnan simply acting appropriately? "One last screw..."

Now you see...that would have worked if it was actually the title of Brosnan's final Bond movie.

What I loved about that line is that it is hard to tell whether Bond was referring to the final kink in his neck or his final romantic moment with Elecktra ("You know what happens when a man is strangled..?"). :))

To have my own say, I'd be very happy if the producers kept Gold and Golden out of the title. After gold fingers, eyes, and guns, I think we're running out of useful appendages and weapons. (And didn't Mike Meyers pretty well take the mickey out of gold-based titles in the last Austin Powers flick?)

I'm with the rest of you, as far as desiring a moratorium on 'Die,' 'Kill' and anything 'Gold.'

I suggest one of my favourite chapter titles, from YOLT:

    "Magic 44"

Like "Ellipsis," it can mean anything.
