Daniel Craig is GQ's 'Most Stylish Star'

James Bond star Daniel Craig has topped GQ magazine's annual list of the most stylish celebrities, with presenter Russell Brand as the worst-dressed.
Conservative leader David Cameron was second in the best-dressed survey, followed by actor Clive Owen.

Prince Harry became the first Royal to be included in the poll, in 10th place.

GQ said that Craig's sharp suit worked so well in Casino Royale because it seemed "like an upgrade" of the clothes he would naturally wear.

"No Bond since Sean Connery has worn it better," the publication added.

    Yet another award for DC. This one's clearly for all those cardigans he wore when doing TV interviews for CR. :))

    As for David Cameron, he probably has ten people employed to decide what clothes he wears. Can't understand that decision. :#

    He still generally looks good. I'm sure DC has stylists for his interviews and public appearances anyway.

    I wouldn't have thought so... does anyone have stylists in their public lives apart from top table Hollywooders? I can't imagine a very good dresser like Craig, would want to pay someone to dress them out of their own pocket when they can do a very passable job themselves.

    I don't mean being see in public generally, like going to the shops. I mean interviews, press apearances, award ceremonys e.t.c. I'd like to see a picture of him just out for a meal or something, to see how he dress's.

    Yeah I know- I just don't think he'd employ a stylist to, for example, tell him to wear a dinner jacket to his film premiere. He's just naturally a chap who's interested in what's stylish.

    Maybe, that's why I'd like to see some photos of him in situations where he wouldn't deliberatly dress well and would not expect to be photographed. I tried searching google but can only find premiere photos and screen caps. Every other photo seems to be him naked in the bath which doesn't help much.

    I think that's great for Craig. However, I just feel that,

    ...is such a throwaway line that's lazy and somewhat irritating, that several other things come to mind: (1) The commentator, no matter how qualified in fashion, may not actually be qualified in knowing all about the Bond wardrobes through out the series' history to make that statement. (2) It's a dramatic and reasonably expected statement to make when showcasing the new guy in whatever institutionalized role (the Saint, Batman, etc.)

    I can better respect something like, "Dramatically Reinventing Formal Wear for a New Generation" ...but that won't sell magazines, I'm afraid.

    No matter, the new and current will always take center stage when promoting the newsworthy anything, to even automatically pass up the hot thing from the year before, technical merits withstanding when applicable. Predictably, the guy after Craig will become the hottest (fill in the category) since Connery.

    It seems to be lazy journalism (if that isn't a given) that whoever is the current Bond is automatically on the list. If memory serves, Brosnan would be quoted say ten years ago, Moore thirty years ago, and Connery in the 60's. Lazenby and Dalton maybe not...

    Makes one wonder how long such a thing can continue. Till #7 steps in, perhaps; I'm sure Brozzer enjoyed his fair share of "Since Connerys" once upon a time.

    Examples of Craigger's sartorial acumen, such as the suddenly-trendy 'suit jacket, tie and faded denim slacks' so often seen during the CR junket, bemuse me no end. I've really no concept of such things ?:)

    Well obviously it's down to personal opinion. But I would guess the majority of personal opinions would go with Connery for whatever reason.

    The suit jackets and jeans thing was a brief fashion thing quite recently. Fashion moves so quickly nowadays it's impossible to keep up.

    I despise fashion. Classic style never dates. Craig will cringe in years when he looks back at the shirt/tie/jeans/leather jacket/black dress shoes blunder.
    I think Brosnan in real life is much more classic and stylish. I have never seen him wear any kind of 'hide behind the sofa' regalia.
    Then again he's not the man of the moment, and Craig so obviously is.
    Coco Chanel once said; 'Fashion is what goes out of fashion'...

    Words woth remembering. Me thinks...

    Oh I doubt it. Why would you regret something when you're happy with your own style? I think he carried it off very well- he certainly cut a dash.

    Well, bless him- he does seem to enjoy a leather jacket a bit too much. I did cringe when I saw him in a very Hasselhoff-style leather/big belt buckle/boots combo last year! Not to say that both of them are not capable of looking great (don't forget they shared last year's GQ best-dressed cover; when neither were really 'flavour of the month') and can also probably faux-pas with the best of them. At least they can both be bold, which is what style is about- not just playing it safe with 'classic style' (whatever that is- even Connery's suits were fashionable in the 60's).

    Brosnan and Hasselhoff were both on the cover of GQ hast year??? I missed that one.
    I agree though both Brosnan and Hasselhoff are very capable of looking great.
    Hasselhoff has aged very well. The're both about the same age you know!

    Not too sure about David Cameron at number two. He seems much like any other politician in a suit and his casual clobber smacks a bit of a toff trying to disguise the fact that he is a toff. He'd be more at home with the Bullingdon dining club. I'm not a huge fan of Daniel Craig's recent display of outfits. Leather jacket and tie, waistcoats with jeans. He'd look better in a t-shirt.

    I bet he wears red braces too!

    I'm sure he 'toffs it up' at the weekend. Old tweeds, wellies, hand me down pink jumpers with holes. And the trusty Volvo estate of course, sans Dalmation!!!

    Because he was the first actor to make a success with the Bond role.

    I think that is one of the reasons. But also i'm sure there are people who thought he was the most stylish as well as people who believe he was the best looking. Style being a part of that.

    Yeah- I'm not sure I've ever noticed his outfits, to be honest. They certainly haven't stood out- I'll have to have another look when he pops up again.

    Dylan Jones, the GQ editor, has a thing about the suits Connery wore in his early movies. I've read stuff by him in which he praised the way Connery was dressed in those movies a few times. I also remember him praising Dalton. I have to say I quite like that cream suit his Bond wore when he confronted Pushkin in TLD.
