A new poster is making the rounds and things don't look too good for our favorite vigilante from the imagery. Anybody familiar with Bane's backstory knows that he gives Batman a world of hurt and its looking more and more like the movie will also have some of that....

I haven't seen that poster yet. That really has me anxious for this movie. I've been keeping quiet about things I've read. The viral campaign for this movie has begun though. Check this out:
Another website was set up called Operation Early Bird. When the site was revealed it showed the 40+ cinemas showing the 6 minute prologue in Imax. The Prologue is set to be shown before Mission Impossible 4, and sounds like it will only be in Imax theaters only. I'll post the website, but looks like most screening are sold out: http://www.operationearlybird.com/

Gotta say, this one looks to rival Batman Returns as the most depressing Bat-film out there. And it turns out that Anne Hathaway's Catwoman is actually pretty darned sexy!

I remember thinking the same thing about the trailer to The Dark Knight and was sure the dark, oppressive tone would hurt the box office. Audiences today seem to expect this type of dour, even downbeat atmosphere.
In terms of the trailer itself, we don't see much (obviously) but three things I found interesting were (1) Anne Hathaway seems to be pretty sympathetic with the bad guys in her dialog, (2) Bruce Wayne is looking pretty haggard in some of those scenes (was that him walking with the cane?) and (3) it looks like Batman finally makes some appearances in the daylight.
From what little we've seen, it seems to me that this movie may echo somewhat the tone and even some story elements The Dark Knight Returns: an older Wayne/Batman seemingly coming out of retirement to face a new evil that threatens Gotham.

Some people may be thinking Nolan will take some story elements from the book Knightfall. I won't spoil anything for those who are unsure of the Knightfall story, but if it's true, it's very possible that was Bruce Wayne walking with the cane.

Here is something pretty special. Five Batmobiles from the 1960's onwards were brought together for an event held by Warner Brothers that will apparently be a bonus feature on The Dark Knight Rises Blu-ray/DVD.
I have come across a series of seven leaked outtakes (spoof) clips featuring Christian Bale and Morgan Freeman on the set of The Dark Knight Rises. Obviously a humorous play on Bale's blow up on the set of Terminator Salvation.
The two most eagerly awaited films of this year for me are Skyfall and The Dark Knight Rises. And things appear to be shaping up nicely for TDKR if this photo of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman is anything to go by.

The Dark Knight Rises has been given an official certificate by the MPAA, with the final part of Chris Nolan's Bat-trilogy set to be a family-friendly PG-13.
That's the same certificate that The Dark Knight was awarded with in the US, so expect that to translate to a 12A when the film is released in the UK.
According to Warner Bros. exhibitor website, the MPAA have made their decision in light of "intense sequences of violence and action, some sensuality and language." So now you know what you've got to look forward to.
The Dark Knight was the subject of some controversy surrounding it's 12A certificate, with some critics feeling that the implied violence and pitch-black themes were unsuitable for a family audience. The certificate would be another big coup for Warner, ensuring they reach the maximum audience possible with what will surely be their biggest release of the year.
Indeed, the film will be released in a whopping 35 territories in July, suggesting a spot of box office record-breaking is likely on the cards. The Dark Knight Rises opens in the UK on 20 July 2012.
Here is the latest cover of Entertainment Weekly featuring Batman and Catwoman. There are comments from Christopher Nolan, Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway.
Entertainment Weekly has revealed seven new photo's from The Dark Knight Rises, including the two below. Catwoman is up for a spot of burglary, but is she too late? Bane appears to be causing chaos at Gotham's stock exchange. Maybe he is not such a bad guy after all.
Here is an interesting and detailed article in which Christopher Nolan talks to the Directors Guild Of America about his influences, filming in IMAX, his non-use of 3D, how he works with actors, his films, which of course includes The Dark Knight Rises.
The third trailer for The Dark Knight Rises will be attached to screenings of Marvel's The Avengers, which opens in the US on May 4th.
Nolan fans grabbed a screenshot from the Warner Bros. Pictures Exhibitor website which confirms that new trailer, which we knew was coming imminently, will be attached to 3D, 2D and IMAX prints of Marvel's big ensemble.
There's no confirmation as to whether the trailer will be attached to UK prints of The Avengers which opens in the UK a week early, next Friday 27th.
The Dark Knight Rises will have a run time of approx two hours forty minutes. Over one hour will contain IMAX footage, a new record. Here are the latest promo images.

Here is an interview with Adam West, star of the 1960's Batman TV series. He regards his Batman as the Bright Knight. He talks about Christopher Nolan's version of the character, shrugs off criticisms of his version and asserts that Batman can be done many ways. He admits he turned on his own version before eventually embracing it. And his reinvention thanks to the bizarre character of Mayor Adam West in Family Guy.
Yes, it's the third trailer to The Dark Knight Rises. I'm so excited for this movie after seeing this latest trailer. BTW, the last scene in the trailer has me real excited.

I am not quite so excited. It looked more like a war movie. Perhaps, it will be too dark? Liked Batman's new toy.

The initial response to the latest trailer has been very positive, judging by over eleven thousand votes cast in a poll for comicbookmovie.com. Almost 73% rated the trailer as Awesome! The one negative aspect mentioned in the article relates to the very odd fight sequence between Batman and Bane. Judge for yourselves.
They're not fighting... they're dancing, grooving, getting down... It's a homage to the very first Batman of the 60s TV show when Adam West 'cuts a caper' in the company of Jill St John.
Excellent trailer and I am very excited to see it. I have two observations, one I didn't care for the scene with the football player running while the field behind is exploding and collapsing, looked very CGI faked. It appears, Catwoman may be a allie of Batman, surprising since I expected her to be a villion, perhaps she is both.
Summer looks very promising, Avengers, Snow White and the Huntsman, Battleship, Promentheus, Brave and The Dark Knight all look good to me.
Some interesting speculation arising from the latest trailer, much of it surrounding Gotham police officer John Blake (Joseph Gordon-Levitt). Could he become Robin? Will he be substituting, or take over the mantle of Batman in the event of Bruce Wayne's death?
Much as I love Batman I never warmed to Robin. Always preferred Batman by himself.
Still I expect C Nolan to do a good job.
I also prefer Batman by himself. I have a high regard for Christopher Nolan. Memento, Insomnia, and the previous two Batman films are high quality. I have seen a few clips of Inception and that looks very promising. So, I anticipate Nolan has done a good job on The Dark Knight Rises. Just a slight concern that it may be too dark.

It would take more than a duff trailer to put me off seeing this though and the leaked prologue is bloody amazing. I can't wait!
