Was Cdr "Buster" Crabb RNVR the real James Bond

After watching the movie about him a while back and doing a little research was Cdr Lionel "Buster" Crabb RNVR Special Branch the real Bond.Clearance Diver during WW2,recalled to duty after the war with the rank of Commander in the Special Branch of the RNVR "died" during an MI6 underwater mission.
