At M's Apartment, most of us believe that Bond was wearing John Lobb Romsey's, in Chocolate Leather.

Before I buy these I just wanted to ask if these have been positivelly identified?

We are still waiting on an image from Asp9mm however im pretty sure he was suposed to be wearing leather shoes during the miami chase, in one publicity photo you see the New Balance but im sure you were not suposed to see them.

I think teh only time he wore Luffields was during during teh Casino Scenes any other leather/suede shoes were different John Lobbs.

I'm positive that they are Purcells in the pic I have of Craig walking from the trailer to the set with the jacket over his shoulder. The pic was primarily made available by Dell Deaton to highlight one of the first pics of the Omega PO. The grey bar at the front of the Purcells has been blacked out, but from the tell tale layer of rubber on the toe, Purcells they are. What is not clear though, is whether they are Craigs own or screen used.

My scanner is useless on this laptop, so I can't get a decent pic up. Someone somewhere must have it , as it was up everywhere a year back.

Unfortunately Dell erased all his posts when he left the board. 8-)

I could have sworn that in some of the production shots from Bonds recovery at Lake Como he is wearing grey or off-white adidas with white laces. I'll see if I can dig those up. I haven't see any production stills of Bond wearing Jack Purcells in Miami there is the production shot where DC is playing a PSP in the chase clothes and he is wearing the Lobbs. I'll also try and dig that one up.

Here are the two shots. The first one is obviously between takes of the airport scene. Looks like Lobbs to me in this shot. The second one is the Lake Como recuperation scene. These look like old school Adidas to me. Like the ones Run-DMC used to wear the Superstar. Opinions?

Yeah, you're right on the money with DC wearing the Lobb's, if anyone wants to know of any good substitutes for the formal shoes that DC wears throughout, PM me with your list.

I thought I might save the trouble of sending a PM, so here is the shortlist:

For the JL Romsey's = RM Williams Simpson boot
For the JL Luffield = Loake Ritz or Arundel 2
For the JL Luffield (higher priced) = Magnoli Clothiers' Royale Shoes

Sorry if you were asking for the Converse Pair or the JL Becketts (the Luffield's are pretty much the same).

Any idea of the shoes worn during the Bahamas Arrival and the Bahamas Return?
  • sruzgarsruzgar Welcome to ScotlandPosts: 1,468MI6 Agent
Im pretty sure that he is wearing teh brown suede chuckka boots on the return to the bahamas, possibly the same ones as the PTS bathroom fight. When he gets out of the chopper you can see he is wearing boots for sure.

Would those boots be the John Lobb, Romsey's??
  • mrbigmrbig Cotswolds, EnglandPosts: 68MI6 Agent
Yes, they seem to be, you can see them in those pictures of shooting at Eton.
  • sruzgarsruzgar Welcome to ScotlandPosts: 1,468MI6 Agent
I dont think they were Romseys, they might not even be Lobbs

i am wondering - are the suede romseys dark brown or tobacoo suede (or even light brown suede)?

i thought i saw a picture that showed lighter brown suede.

    any ideas??
  • mrbigmrbig Cotswolds, EnglandPosts: 68MI6 Agent
I'd say tobacco suede, you can tell from the shots from shooting @ Eton
  • ufboy73ufboy73 usaPosts: 103MI6 Agent
thanks mr big - is there somewhere online i could see these pics @ eton that you are referring to?

    thanks
  • mrbigmrbig Cotswolds, EnglandPosts: 68MI6 Agent
Yes there is, on this very website actually, here's the link: url]http://www.ajb007.co.uk/index.php?topic=26110[/urlPhotos from Eton[/url]
  • ufboy73ufboy73 usaPosts: 103MI6 Agent
thanks mr. big - those definitely llok like tobaccoo (its very hard to tell in the B&W shots since everything looks dark). im also thinking that is definitely the shade in the bahamas return, also (though the original bahamas arrival im thinknig must be dark brown suede...i still wonder if the original bahamas pair were luffields or romseys)??
  • mrbigmrbig Cotswolds, EnglandPosts: 68MI6 Agent
Actually, the Bahamas arrival shoes are Black leather. Bond changes his shoes after flying, when he arrives at the ocean club, you can see that his shoes are brown, and if you look on outnow.ch you can find photos that show Bond walking away from the plane.

interesting - so youre saying black leather off the plane, dark brown suede at ocean club arrival, do you know what hes wearing when he wins the car???(looks like maybe dark brown leather), and then tobaccoo suede when he returns via helicopter...

all luffields except for the helicpoter return??

thats quite a few pairs of shoes to pack on a trip!:)
  • mrbigmrbig Cotswolds, EnglandPosts: 68MI6 Agent
Yeah, I'm with you on that. I'd say that he had
    a) Black Luffields
    b) Brown Luffields
    c) Brown Suede Luffields
    d) Brown/suede Romseys (at the helicopter)

    mr big,

    thanks!

are you also a shoe aficionado or solely (no pun intended) a bond specialist?

For anyone looking for close looking substitute for the Romsey boot worn in the M appartment scene, here what I just got and they look really good... from Charles Tyrwhitt:

    http://www.ctshirts.co.uk/productMSB.aspx?DepGrpCode=MEN&DepCode=MSFS&ProCode=MBTEYE&level1=Men&level2=Shoes&level3=Formal%20Shoes

And an close looking option for the washroom fight tan booties from Loake british shoe maker:

    http://www.pediwear.co.uk/detail.php?stock_ID=1598

    Now 2 questions:

Can anyone tell me if the boots in the M appartment scene are black or brown (I know this post identified them as brown but they do look black of the pictures I saw... I could be wrong)?

Any good shots of the Bahamas return light brown or beige boots ? (again for these boots, the Loake tan booties linked just above look pretty close)
  • ufboy73ufboy73 usaPosts: 103MI6 Agent
after looking at some more pics, i am positive that the bathroom fight scene shoes are definitely not romsey's. the stitching on the side of the shoe (that is clearly visible in some picture books i have been looking at) is very different that the romsey's. in fact, the stitching is very like the chukka boot stitching on a loake model (although, not the distressed leather model linked above). I dont think theres going to be any way to definitively ID the bathroom scene shoes.

I recently bought a pair of tobacco coloured ankle high boots/chukkas that were really close to the Bahama helicopter scene. They are made by Johnston & Murphy. They have the right kind of toe shape.

I don't know what the airport chase scene shoes are but I don't think they are black Jack Purcell OTR's. If you freeze frame the movie at 52 minutes and 15 seconds and again a couple of seconds later, you will notice that the shoes Bond is wearing appear to be a dark brown or black cap toe oxford of some type / unknown origin. One of the John Lobb offerings perhaps? Plus, earlier in the scene when Bond is climbing up the ladder on the back of the tanker you can clearly see heels on his shoes, which of course the OTR's don't have. Just my two cents.
