Change Of Heart

Hi! I've recently had a change of heart for the bond films after a semi-bondathon (3 films a night) and think of them as I've never seen them before. GE was No. 1 but is now at No. 5 with TSWLM at No. 1 (Previosly No. 2). LTK was at No. 6 but is now at No. 21 with TB now at No. 15 (Previosely No. 21). I've just wondered if anyone else gets a change of heart after seeing a film you haven't seen for a while?

I love two of these things! Sweepy, I'm so very grateful that you now despise that vicious and disgusting celluloid that is known as Licence To Kill.

I also love that Pendragon has had a change of heart of liking AVTAK. See, it's not that bad! You guys just have to wait six years like she did and you'll see the light! ;)

So that's your plan for the AVTAK haters? Ban them from seeing the movie for 6 years? :P ;) :))

Yeah but just wait, JFF. Another six years and you might have another opinion about AVTAK. You maybe be overcome but an attack of good taste....

Having been inspired by the awesomeness that is Casino Royale to go back and watch all the Bond films over again I have had a number of such "changes" over the last few months. My esteem for TLD, TMWTGG, AVTAK has increased dramatically. AVTAK in particular-- it's actually quite a stellar movie and would have been an easy shoe-in for "best of the 80s" if it weren't for the fact that Moore looks like he belongs in a retirement home. On the other hand I enjoyed FYEO and the whole Brosnan era much less than I had in the past. My top 7 or 8 or so have remained fairly consistent.

I've made the shocking error of lending my copy of Royale to someone... damn, now I'm craving some Dan and Eva.

I don't need 6 years to find confirmation, that AVTAK is one of my flop-5 ;%

For some strange reason, long ago, when it first came out, DAD was one of my favourites. Now it's at number 20 for me.

I change my opinions lots. YOLT used to be one of my favourites but has now gone down a bit, although I still like it. DAF has slightly gone up.

DN has gone up loads, and is in my top 10 at the moment. However, GF has gone down a bit, and TB is my number 21...

AVTAK still remains at my number one, however, my top 4 (AVTAK, LALD, OP, and FYEO) are all VERY close and could change at any time! 4 fantastic movies right there!
    1 - LALD, 2 - AVTAK, 3 - LTK, 4 - OP, 5 - NTTD, 6 - FYEO, 7 - SF, 8 - DN, 9 - DAF, 10 - TSWLM, 11 - OHMSS, 12 - TMWTGG, 13 - GE, 14 - MR, 15 - TLD, 16 - YOLT, 17 - GF, 18 - DAD, 19 - TWINE, 20 - SP, 21 - TND, 22 - FRWL, 23 - TB, 24 - CR, 25 - QOS

    1 - Moore, 2 - Dalton, 3 - Craig, 4 - Connery, 5 - Brosnan, 6 - Lazenby

I have experienced a change of heart over DN. When I first saw it, I liked it but I didn't love it. Now I regard it as a masterpiece and IMO it's among the very most beautiful Bond films of all time. Honey is an example of this. In the past I liked her but I didn't truly appreciate what people saw in her. Earlier this year, I saw DN at the cinemas and I fell in love with her. :x

Why all the hate for AVTAK ?:) ? I think it is pretty good. Zorin was great and Roger Moore was good too.

I'm glad that both that particular film---and that particular actor---have their loyal fans. Diversity of opinion is a spice of life {[]

I did like Christopher Walken as a Bond villain. That maniacal laugh, just before he falls to his death from atop the Golden Gate Bridge... B-) This film didn't have a lot of great moments for me, but that was indeed one of them :007)

Indeed it is. {[] I tend to go back and forth between Connery and Moore. Both are wonderful IMO and both have really great films. I lean towards Moore most of the time because I like the "feel" of Moore's films. Maybe I just like the 70's and 80's more than the 60's ?:) .

The fight between Bond and Zorin on the Golden Gate Bridge is great IMO. The music goes right with it and it is very suspenseful. :)

    Now back to the topic.

It seems like whenever I watch a bond film that I dislike and don't watch at all anymore, when I finally do watch it, it is just as good as the first time I saw it. The biggest change I have had is with CR. The first time I watched it, I wasn't too fond of it (probably because I am, as Loeff would put it, a Cinematic Bond Traditionalist :p ). Now I finally watched it again a few nights ago, and I enjoyed it more than I did the first time.

The only movie I have never changed with is TMWTGG. It has and always will be my least favorite bond film (or until some other terribly awful bond film comes along :D ).

I prefer DAD over TMWTGG personally.

While TMWTGG has issues, DAD is just plain awful. I will never have a change of heart for that Bond-movie.

Me neither. :# I will also not have a change of heart over AVTAK and TLD; two films which IMO were worse than DAD.

One film that I did have a change of heart over is TMWTGG. I used to love it, and the first time that I saw it, I thought it was one of the greatest Bond films I ever saw (although at that point I hadn't seen all that many. ;)) Years later, I was watching it on TV and I realised that although it has some terrific things going for it, it's not a particularly great film. :# I don't hate it by any means, however I no longer love it.
