Uploading Video Clips to Computer

I'm in the process of making a powerpoint, purely for my own and friends' enjoyment, but I would rather like to add video clips to it. I've managed it with some clips I've found online, but there's a few others I'd like which I can't find online and so would like to upload them myself. I presume this can be done using some of my videos and DVDs, but I'm unsure how. :#
Thanks in advance to anyone who manages to help me out. {[] :)

Relax darling, I'm on top of the situation -{

    Not too long ago I had this done for me. Basically, you need to have a program and equipment that will allow you to view your DVD on the computer and which will record all or selected portions of the disk on to a file. That's all I know. . .I'm sure one of our more technically literate users will be of more help.
