I still prefer the Planet Ocean with the black rubber strap. It looks like the Planet Ocean is Daniel Craig's standard issue watch now.. A move from the Seamaster Pro that Brosnan wore in the past and the newer co-axial version that Craig wore in the later scenes in Casino Royale. Either way, the Planet Ocean suits Daniel Craig more I think.. It would look better with the rubber strap like in Casino Royale. Something about the bracelet that I don't like, it looks too generic.
The Seamaster Pro on the other hand has a beautiful bracelet..
I wanna get the Planet Ocean with the black rubber strap!!
Anyway, here is my Brosnan era Seamaster Pro with the DBS >>>
Correct me if I'm wrong, so I suppose the watch he'll be wearing in the new movie is smaller in size compared to the Planet Ocean (w/rubber strap) that he wore in Casino Royale which was 45mm.....???

You are correct. The Casino Royale PO was the bigger size. I think because of the way the watch wears with a suit is the reason why they changed sizes, and for timeline sake the original Bond wore a watch similar in size. At least in my opinion.
Not only the CR Planet Ocean Omega is 45.5 mm in size. The limited edition QoS Omega (with the Walther PPK grip structure dial and the laser etched crystal) is also that size.
If you are asking me, it would have made much more sense to design this particular edition in the same size like the movie watch, which is 42 mm.
P.S. Mods: I am on the way to reach the 1000 posts now, I am opening the champagne, you can get the platinum watch ready to be shipped off {[]

When you hit 1000 posts you are not allowed anymore as the first 1000 were pretty useless.
As for the 45mm QOS edition. The decision to use the 45 mil version was made cos' the textured dial did not look as good on the smaller version, and with the etching also, looked too overcrowded.
I for my part will buy the QoS limited PO for sure.
As long as the price is right
Absolutely {[]
@k5211: Sorry, I don't have a US price for the CR Planet Ocean and it will depend on, if you are talking about the Limited Edition or the regular watch in 45.5 mm with rubber strap
The LE PO for CR has been € 2.800,-- here in Germany

It definitely looks like it will be the planet ocean with the silver metal bracelet - will be established in this film.
Nope, It will be the usual Seamaster, but with a new black dial and bezel (looks very good). Officially this will be announced in April 2008. The Planet Ocean is not penned for a return.

Here is the explination for your question on why the special edition PO was made bigger. Don't know why they made the black SMP.

Think we can Rubbish this theory then.
That was posted a year ago, and don't forget I knew four months before anyone else that Omega would release a black dial, black bez Seamaster. Omega were fully expecting this to be used in the film, and therefore not a bad assumption on my behalf either, especially considering that I knew the ltd ed was that very same new watch. Imagine how Omega feel, releasing a Ltd Bond watch that Bond does not wear - not happy to say the least. It's being an awful seller to boot. Not great communication between the two companies this time round. Expect big changes for 23 :v

I know Asp9mm, didn't mean to sound like i was having a go. Omega's communication is some of the worse i have ever seen (I work in international Marketing for a company you all will know). I'm talking about posters showing the Omega Planet Ocean Chronograph as "Geroge Clooney's choice" - whilst in the very same picture he is wearing a Deville????
Recent advertising pictures of the Ltd edition Seamaster (in Black) as "James Bond's choice" whilst Daniel Craig is wearing the Omega Planet Ocean 42mm in the same picture???

The etching could have been done a bit smaller and I am not sure, if the texture would look too massive on the 42 mm size. ?:)
But the discussion is obsolete, we are not Omega and have to live with what they regard as being appropriate and make our choices to purchase or not.

I cannot understand why the Special Edition "Quantum of Solace" is the 45.5mm version.
Typical Omega - no consistency.
