I agree with Double-0!!! I've had my GE era Seamaster for over ten years and just treated myself to the Planet Ocean. Nothing!...absolutely nothing beats Omega!!!!

Nothing beats...not being taken to debtors prison! I may have to explore Alpha, as having no salary at the moment, even collecting the knock off clothes is taking some doing.
Good on all of you who can afford one of those bad boys. Alpha, here I come...
Hello ASP9mm. I am curious. Will there be a new Omega line introduced with Bond 22. If you are able, please give a bit more info oon this, thanks

All I can say for sure is that the new Bond watch is the same design but with a black face and bezel. I guess they will produce the quartz and midsize versions as with the blue ones. There will also be another [yawn] limited edition of 10,007, but the dial has not been finalized.
The photo posted by Predator shows a 42mm Planet Ocean on the metal bracelet. Definitely the PO bezel and hour markers. I have seen higher resolutions of this photo on other sites and the way you can tell it is the 42mm is because the date window is closer to the bezel than on the 45.5mm version. Since Craig wore a 45.5mm in Casino Royale I guess this would lend creedence to whoever suggested that this is his personal watch and was getting ready for filming. I hope new shots with the watches come out soon because my pennies are saved up and I was leaning towards the 45.5 PO but I may wait to see the black Seamaster before pulling the trigger.
If I interpret Asp correctly, Bond will only be wearing one watch in #22. The 42mm PO we recently viewed is thought to be Craig's personal watch. The PO will not be in #22 and the new watch will be the same as the current Seamaster Professional except it will be black instead of blue...did I get that right Asp...I think it's close enough for government work.
He is in costume prepared to film a scene, on other pictures we can see director who instructs Craig, why he would wear his private watch. He would be allreadi wearing Bond watch
My question in a prior post was overlooked, this might be a better place to ask it. What are your opinions on the 42mm vs 45.5mm PO? Do you think the large size is cool/modern? Not as classy/classic?

I personally like the looks of the 45.5 myself. I love the sculpting on the outer bezel. When I originally tried one on it had the metal bracelet and I thought that watch looked absolutely massive on my skinny 7 inch wrists. However, several months later I was visiting another Omega dealer and I tried on the one with the rubber strap as seen in Casino Royale. I actually think that version looked pretty good. I just can't go with the metal bracelet and make it work.
I currently have several Omegas including the Brosnan Bond watch (purchased in 96 or so) as well as a Speedmaster Professional "Moon Watch"...both of which are around the 42mm size and they look fine on me.
Right now I am leaning towards the PO on the rubber strap but I may wait until some pics come out of the new Bond watch and make my decision then. (Or I may punt altogether on a watch purchase for 2008 and instead get the Swaine Adeney Brigg Bond attache which runs about the same...They recently jumped up about $1000 US at classicluggage.com in Washington DC. They're now a whopping $2850.)
The current fashion trend IS towards a large oversized watch so the 45.5 would be a little more fashion forward. However, this may be a passing fad. But...if you look at this as a tool watch that you will actually use for diving, the 45.5 would be a bit easier to read due to its larger size and would probably be the best choice.
I wear my Seamaster Professional every day with my suit (and - Yes, even with the tuxedo). If you plan on wearing the watch every day to work with a suit I would get the 42 on the metal bracelet. If it will be a more casual watch, go for the big boy. I have to add that the PO's are also taller than the SMP's. I think the 45.5 would be a little much to be wearing under a dress shirt. Hope that helps.
I dunno if this is helpful or not, but, on the mi6.co.uk website's "Bond 22 Pre-Production Diaries", some of them have pics DC wearing non-costume clothes, along with this watch, which would support the theory that it's his own watch.
It could be rehearsal/walkthrough, it could be blocking. Once they get everybody together there's still a process. Or it could be a scene with no closeups and they didn't need the watch as part of the 'costume'.
I'd like to think the PO was going to be THE watch for Bond 22 because I really like it, but ASP9mm speaks as if he's got an inside scoop... I don't know what that is, but that's the impression I get.
Just seen close up photos from early filming, Craig is definately sporting a black Planet ocean with black bezel and white numbers, this is on the steel strap this time.
I prefer the blue smp but he ho maybe he will wear more than one watch again? Keeps more consumers happy i suppose!

Look at the bezel and the date placement. Clearly the 42mm.
There is no difference in the bezel and date placement between the two watches (not proportionally anyway). Bond wore the 45 MM 29.00.50.91 in Casino Royale - why would he now change to the 42mm 2201.50.00 now??

I don't know abot the Bezel but the Date window is definitely closer to the middle on the 45 MM than on the 42 MM. look on the Omega Site for good comparison pictures.

One reason may be that the 45mm was on a rubber strap and worn casually in CR. its a b**** to try and wear that beast with a french cuff shirt and suit - 42mm version on a metal bracelet is much easier to wear as a dress watch than 45mm on a metal bracelet
