Yes because up until CR came out he was wearing the Blue Omega SMP Chronometer (ala Brosnan) - there is definitely a Bond link there.

Exactly agreed, It is definitley going to be the classic Seamaster 300m Co-Axial Black face and Bezel with a Red 007 Seconds hand, That's good for me because I got the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 45.5mm Casino Royale Limited Edition. With the rubber band, Absoulutely fantastic to wear, Sometimes you don't notice your wearing it because the rubber is not cheap, It feels soooo good to wear. That's why it's Bond's choice,

I will get this next Limited Editon Seamaster, Can't wait for its release ! ! ! ! !

Would it be possible to replace the bezel from the seamaster 2254.50 with the bezel on this new black seamaster? I prefer the smaller numbers

As long as noone has the actual watch in hands, this can not be determined.

Also, the real appearance of the "standard" black seamaster has not been published. We only know the prototype shot from Asp9mm.

I am sure, that we'll get a reply on this when the watches are out as there may be a few, who would be willing to update their blue Seamasters into black without purchasing a totally new watch.

    The big questions are:

    - Did they change the dimensions for the bezel and the inserts for the black model?
    - Will they offer seperate dials and bezel inserts? (unlikely for the ltd. edition, all I have seen so far for the older ltd. eds. appeared to be fakes to me)
    - and if yes, when will that be?

Hi all! First time poster here. Have been following this post with intrigue as I am keen to find out which Omega will be featured in QoS, so I can plan my next purchase accordingly.

I'm sure most of you guys/girls have seen the lastest pics of QoS released on the net. Based on one of the photo which has his Omega clearly shown on his wrist(I wanted to post that pic up but noticed the pic-posting rule regarding MGM-ownership)I had surmised that Daniel Craig is sporting the Seamaster Planet Ocean 45.5mm in black with the SS band. The reason I came to that conclusion is that:

1.) I am a proud owner of the Seamaster PO 45.5mm and I can pick one of those babies from a mile off :p

2.) The Seamaster PO that DC wore in Casino Royale was definitely a 45.5mm. Personally I cannot see a reason why he would switch to a 42mm (beside the shirt cuffs issues stated previously)

3.) The size of DC's wrist would make a 42mm look ridiculous. I can understand a 42mm would fit better on mere mortals like most of us, but on someone with the physique of DC it seems logical for the "mannier" 45.5mm to be Bond's watch of choice.

4.) As stated in previous posts, larger watches seems to be the fashion trend nowadays (Thank god I say!). I assume we can all agree that Mr Bond is a secret agent/fashion icon (not necessary in that particular order). Make sense for the new bond to sport the lastest fashion trends.

That was my 2 cents worth. IMHO I believe DC will be wearing the 45.5mm PO throughout QoS, with the new black SMP acting as a marketing ploy. Having said that, I'm 99% sure that I will add the new ltmd ed. SMP to my collection. If it does feature in the new film, then that would make up the other 1%.

Hi cmdr, it's nice to see that you've come over from filmjackets.com. He is wearing the 42 mm PO. The 42 mm works much better as an every day watch on the SS than the 45.5. Also, the SMP that he wore in CR was 41 mm, and it looked perfectly fine on him. I've tried on both the 45.5 and the 42 PO on SS, and I couldn't imagine someone wearing the 45.5. on SS and for it to look as proportional as it does on Daniel Craig. From every picture I've seen, not one has looked like the 45.5 to my eye. The 3.5 mm really make the watch wear differently. Granted, I don't have a confirmed source that states that it's 42 mm or not. But, I couldn't imagine it being the 45.5.

I have the 45.5 as wrll, looks like he has that one on.

Are there any high definition pics that clearly show 45.5 vs 42 or vice-versa? It seems as though the peanut gallery is divided as to what they think they've seen. Based on the photos I've seen so far, I cannot draw a conclusion as it appears to me that both may have been used...I know, I know...it doesn't make sense for continuity reasons but who knows for sure? I've ordered the 45.5 which I should have by July.

He definately has a 42mm version on. I have one of the rubber stunt watches used in the fight sequence and it is 42mm.

Hi all. I have a few screen-caps of the Embassy shoot-up and have a particularly good one where DC was using his right arms to push Mollaka down onto the ground whilst aiming the Browning pistol. The Planet Ocean is smack bang in the middle of the shot. After comparing it to my own 45.5mm PO on my wrist, I am certain that the watch in the screencap was a 45.5mm model. I wish I could post the screencap up so everyone here can determine for themselves.

Yes... it was the 45.5mm PO. This thread is talking about QOS, not CR. The watch in QOS is the 42mm PO.

Wow !! He could be a drink ??!!??

If he is then he's a very talented scotch - 25 yr old malt no doubt ;)

Sorry Bondtoys - I ask for your forgiveness for my bad joke ;% But I was a lot softer than M5 would have been ;)

It's Scots not scotch. And I'll tell you if he's tight after I have the watch :D

    :D Sir Miles,

thanks for helping me on it.
I'll never learn that language damnmate.gif

and if we'd compare him with an "old" malt, I'd rather use the words aged and rancid to describe him. :p

Or has this been only a desperate attempt from you to convince him to send you the stunt watch? :v

    Cheers!

Please, Bondtoys, your English is fine - it is just us lazy Brits that can't/won't learn another language (a big generalisation there, granted). It's just most Scots I talk too hate being called 'scotch'.

Oh - and that was a complete and utter desperate attempt to convince him to send me the watch. Do you think it will work ? :D

well, he has his weak spots and pampering his overdeveloped ego may be a good thing.

On the other hand: Mostly his collection consists of useless junk, so, he"ll keep his only gem there.

I wish you luck, and if you get the watch, please tell me your address :v

His English is not fine, sometimes I think he's talking wookiee it's that far removed from proper language.

Personally if I was Scotch, I'd prefer to be a 1977 Ardbeg.

    Asp,

Great photos of the stunt watch but the bezel is that of the 45.5 not the 42mm. It may measure out to be 42mm but the stunt watch has the wavy edged bezel of the 45.5 as pattern evidenced in your photos.

If I may now join in on the fun I'll share a joke I heard a few years back at IrishFest in Milwaukee:

Q: What's the difference between a Scottsman and a coconut?

A: You can get a drink out of a coconut.

No, the bezel is a 42.5 version, it's just my crappy photography.

"talking Wookie" is a refrence to the character Chewbacca in the Star Wars Movies who was a wookie.

Thank you guys for the kind words.

Don't get Asp9mm wrong, this is just our usual playin' and even, when he's sometimes grumpey, he's overall a great guy (although, I'll never admit that face to face ;))
