I can't believe they are recycling the Kim threat again. I guess the writers are running out of ideas. This season is really going down hill fast.

Hours 23 and 24 have brought this season--err, day--to a close. Overall, I was left with mixed impressions. For 3/4ths of the way, this was a great season, but things started to wobble about the time Jack was infected with the toxin and I think the show ran out of gas once Hodges was captured. This may not go down as one of the best installments of 24, but it was still a fun and mostly worthwhile season.
So, anyway, the last couple of hours wrapped up pretty much everything, though it left some thing dangling--presumably to be picked up next season. Indeed, we got the return of "The Perils of Kim," but it was somewhat mild: her decision to follow the killer through the airport was stupid on her part, but at least she was never in any real danger. And Kim actually contributed to things by locating her missing father. Speaking of which, was anyone surprised by what happened at the end? Anyone? Anyone? And who thinks that the next "day" of 24 will begin with all the characters mourning that Jack's life couldn't be saved? Suuuure. . .
Actually, what I liked most about this episode--and this season on the whole--was the change Renee Walker underwent from straight-up law-and-order type, to Baueresque butt-kicker. The episode made it look as though Renee is Jack's heir--even that she'll pick up where Jack left off--but, once more, I think we'll be seeing Jack again real soon. I hope we'll also see more of Renee, but the life expectancy of hot women in Jack's life suggests any future appearances will be brief.
So, all in all, a flawed but decent season. Here's looking forward to new trials and travails in Day 8. . .
Well it was another good season of 24. I thought the last two episodes were a lot like the season itself. They both started strong and ended a little flat. I have such a dislike of the Kim character that I found myself just being irritated with her scenes and unable to enjoy them. I feared the worst when Jack called the Mosques leader to his bedside but thought the scene actually went all right. I think they have a good storyline set up for next season and I look forward to watching Jack and Renee’ hunt down the remaining members of the organization. I hope they keep Renee’ around for next season but think Hardboy is probably right when he says her chances are not that good.

Hmmmmm. This season had it's moments and showed signs of having potential. But it would quicklY fizzle out. I guess I was expecting something else out of this season. Not the best season of 24, and not the worst. I still can't believe how many "turns" Tony took. That was the biggest disappointment of the season. He's bad, no, now's he good. Whoops, no he's not, he's bad again. Then finally, he's still bad, but working on a personal vendetta Let's hope Season 8 (if there's a season 8) will be the final season and it'll be the best season of 24 yet.

I was satisfied with the explanation for Tony's flip-flops. At least it showed that he had a consistent motive for his actions throughout the season. I would have preferred Tony not turning to the dark side (and back again, and again) but at least they gave him a decent reason for doing so. The writers keep getting rid of all the really good supporting characters and leaving us with the likes of Chloe and Kim.

Not sure if anybody watched Late late Show with Jimmy Fallon on Thursday night, but Kiefer was a guest. He seemed to talk more about Season 8 than season 7. Some tid-bits about the 8th season:
Season 8 will take place just days after season 7.
Season 8 will also take place in New York City.
Kiefer seemed to know more about season 8, but was tight lipped.
No video is available of the interview at the time I write this. But if one becomes available I'll post it ASAP.
