James Bond Themed Tattoo

Hello all!!

I am currently considering designs for my fourth tattoo and have decided I would like it to carry some sort of reference to our beloved secret agent. Whether the whole tattoo is linked to Bond (maybe the gun shaped 7) or there is something on it that eludes to Bond i'm not sure.

So if anyone can think of anything from the series that might make a good tattoo design, or any logo or symbol from the films or books that could perhaps be incorporated into a larger design, please leave your suggestions here.

I am hoping to get this done early to mid december, I will of course post pictures when I have it.

I've always thought the griffin holding the gun, from the OHMSS paperback, would make a swell tattoo.

Get the gunbarrel opening scene on your back.

Or you could get a smaller gunbarrel, and in the opening you can get the 007.
Some people would complain even if you hang them with a new rope

You could tattoo one of your fingers gold. :v Seriously, this may be a little boring, but what about 007 forever? Although alternatively, you could get a tattoo of your favourite Bond girl. :D

Some great ideas so far, cheers.

I have toyed with the idea of the classic silhouette on my forearm, click the link to see the one I mean

I like the idea of the gun barrell logo.

Keep em' coming guys and girls

I have a Moore silhouette over the Bond logo (with Union Jack zeros) on one shoulder, Blofeld's coat of arms on the other, and Bond circa FYEO on ... well, someplace else. I'm working on a fourth using silhouettes of the girls throughout the decades with the Connery silhouette noted above in the middle.

Regarding this fourth: since I started on the tattoos, "armbands" have become all the rage -- at least here in the States and particularly on gay men -- but what with shoulder designs already in place, I'm outta room. So I'm considering this "Bond girl band" for a forearm or lower leg. Can't decide. Anyone have any thoughts pro or con regarding locations?

Get the gunbarrel, and work out really hard so you can use your muscles to move it and make the dead guy come in. *imagines*

Hmmm, I'm thinking OHMSS, from either Bond's family crest from the book ("the world is not enough") or the movie's title sequence:

    Crest:

    Title:

However, the references might be too subtle for those who aren't Bond geeks.

I started thinking about a tattoo a few weeks before Casino Royale opened up. In the years to follow, I've had plenty of time to weigh my thoughts. Some of my first memories as a very young kid were of watching Bond movies with my dad. I have always enjoyed them, even the lesser installments. I finally decided to go for it, and a half hour later, I found myself labeled with the hero I've fawned over all my life.

I have the inside gun barrel from the opening sequence with the 007 in the middle. I think its awesome and now considering getting the flame girl in colour or possibly the names of each bond actor

I grew up like so many of you watching James Bond movies over and over with my dad... He used to introdcue himself to all his clients and friends as Bond, James Bond. When he died it seemed fitting that i get a James Bond tattoo to commemorate him so i drew this. Its a cross between James Bond and just plain being English. This coming august my fiance and i are getting married and are having a James Bond themed wedding as a final tribute to my dad.

I've got 007 logo on my waist. It means a lot to me considering I started watchin bond at a young age. I like the idea of the coat of arms or the flame girl.

My friend's son has a 007 gun logo with the British Union Jack inside the logo which I think looks very cool.

Me...I would never get a tattoo in a million years. However, I have a rather large collection of scars. Scars are just like tattoos but they come with better stories. And I earned the right to tell every one of them. Ha!

I have always considered getting a James Bond tattoo, since -like many here- I started watching the films with my dad as a youngster (Goldeneye being the first when I was 9 years old) and I've been in love ever since. If I ever got a tattoo it would probably be something like a globe with the 007 in the middle going across it and a scroll at the bottom with 'Orbis Non Sufficit" (The world is not enough). Yeah only Bond über geeks would get it, but I will always know what it means and thats all that really matter at the end of the day. I already have a tattoo and I can tell you that the most important thing to remember is that it will be on your body for the rest of your life, so it better be something you know you will love till the day you die and it better really mean something to you or else you'll hate yourself for it later. If you still haven't figured out a design, my husband (who designed my tattoo) could design it for you if you have a few ideas. Good luck ;)

Amazingly I myself have thought about getting a 007 tat. Iwas thinking of getting Orbis non sufficit accross my shoulders and then I could give the tattoo two meanings -obviously the 007 reference (Orbis non Sufficit meaning The World is Not Enough.) And secondly that I am like Atlas and is able to carry the weight of the world on my shoulders. anyway that's my idea.

talking of Bond related tats has anyone seen the one's in Kat von D's High voltage book? One of her clients had images from Thunderball tattooed on the outside of her thigh. They look pretty good.

When they release the Collector's super-duper deluxe limited Multi-Ultimate Blu-ray with free PPK edition your penis will unfortunately be .... soooo 2010.

But on the bright side, be thankful it wasn't the directors cut.

I think it would be kind of cool to have "17F" tattooed, it being Ian Fleming's code name while serving in Naval Intelligence.

I love the idea of the bond crest.. i've been looking for something for the inside of my right bicep - i have no tattoos and plan on modeling mine after david beckhams (without all the religious references).

I plan on getting my first tattoo next week while visiting Goa. (not this one, something simpler.)

can anyone give more details on this coat of arms? which of the three in the above link is the most authentic? on the cover of flemings book the banner is offset to the left vs it being flat on the right coat of arms - is the griffin just from the movie sequence? i like the latin in the banner vs the english, the shading of the right two vs the left - the clean shield on the left vs the small square in the left on the shield on the right.

Does anyone know what the rest of the crest on the book's cover (under the hand) looks like?

Here is the link again (thank you to the original poster.)

if your going to do it do it big i think a full back tattoo with the barrell with bond in it in the middle and all the bond girls round the outside if you get a good tattoo shop they can do the bond girls from photos i think that would look great

Astonchap - you have found a good artist! Beautiful work!

    JBJ -

When I was 23 I decided to get a Tattoo myself. As a Trek fan I decided on a couple of ground rules.

    1) No names.

    2) No numbers.

    3) Something that will have timeless significance to me, even in say another thirty years.

I succeeded in meeting all those measures, and got a tattoo that was right for me.

I would say that the best bet would be the classic 7, or perhaps the silhouette. A variation of those that might work if you want a smaller tattoo, would be a single bullet wiht the 007 on it, a'la The Golden Gun? It depends on what scale you are going for, and if you have a favoured Bond, or the franchise as a whole.

    I hope this helps!
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

I always fancied the gun & rose from the first edition of FRWL, but someone pointed out that people would mistake me for a Guns'n'Roses fan (which I ain't). How about the skull & rose from the first edition of Goldfinger? Very tattooey.
