Bond 17 in 1991

I've just got a brilliant idea for a fan-fiction. A screenplay on the un-made Bond 17 with TD in 1991. I've gotten a brilliant idea of a pre-creds in a castle during a training mission. The usual Maurice Binder nudes in the title sequence and after that bond with M returning to the service after a short absence. Then bond is given a Aston Martin Voltage from Q like the one in TLD but with an ejector seat, oil slicker, front machine guns and tire slashers!!! Bond is sent to Japan to investigate Colonel Sun after a suspicious incident at a chemical weapons factory in Scotland. It would end like YOLT with an OTT plot involving chemical weapons but still be dark and a little believable. Colonol Sun almost gets away but his helicopter is shot down and bond ends up with the girl as usual. What do you think?

As cool as "what if" topics are - I don't believe in them. There's so many variables involved that I feel like it's futile to work out what might be.
Maybe additional scenarios (like the one presented here by Sweepy) can be added to that post. By the end, we could have a collection of 4 or 5 virtual 1991 movies.
Did you get anywhere with this Sweepy? Sounds interesting. I had a few ideas for Colonel Sun myself a few years ago, but they nicked some of them for DAD!

I'll have to set aside some time to read it.
For your reference (and partly to satisfy my vain instincts ) I'm pasting a link to two plot treatments that some of us at the ajb community have written. One is by TOOTS titled "The Hildebrand Rarity", the other by me "The Property of a Lady".

Meanwhile I'm also thinking about writing an alternative AVTAK scenario taking place in a virtual 1985 as Dalton's first Bond outing. I've always thought Dalton deserved 4 outings. Since there's little love lavished by most of the fans here on the original AVTAK (with notable exceptions), and since Dalton would probably have looked better in 1985 than in 1993, I think predating his tenure, rather than extending it into the future is preferable.
Also, there are several people who have done rewrites of "AVTAK" in the past, myself included. What sort of ideas would you want to use?
The general thrust of my project is to distance myself from the OTT elements of the original movie and to integrate scenes from Fleming's short story into a relatively new plot. I would also like the film to be written for Dalton's strengths: so there should be some grittiness to it and definitely a cold-war theme.
The one element retained from the original movie will be the focus on horses... and of course Paris (but that comes from the short story).
