Some of you may be familiar with this website. It's an online archive of sites on the World Wide Web. It's a great gallery of how websites have evolved.

Just for fun, I took a peek at what AJB looked like before I joined in 2004. Here are the links:

http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://ajb007.co.uk

You'll find a couple of links in 2002 show the site down. Before that, AJB was quite different when it >gasp< actually showed Bond images!

For some of you, this might be quite a fun trip! Most likely some of the threads that are gone now, still remain in these archives.

That is a really interesting website. Nice find. The quality of sites have improved so much over the last 10 years.

Darenhat, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!! Egotist that I am, I looked through the forums and discovered that two often-requested posts I made in the early days of the Lit forum--"Live and Let Die: Fear of a Black Planet?" and "Moonraker--the novel that (pretty well) started it all"--which I feared were gone forever, and alive and well! Guess what I'm about to post in the Lit forum? Happy happy, joy joy!

Good Lord---I've only been here 2 1/2 years, and some of my stuff is there, too :o One of the threads, "New Bond Actor Idea," has me stating, for perhaps the first time, that I'd "certainly take Cavill over Craig!" :))

I would encourage any newcomers to AJB (who might be curious about where we've been as a Bond site), to jump in and browse around. There is some fascinating---and relevant---stuff to be found, as the second 'Craig as Bond' film prepares to lens :007)

Just call me Mr. Peabody ;)

I thought it was pretty interesting to revisit some old threads as well as see the site evolve.

It's silly. Some of the threads are probably still around, just buried under pages and pages of newer topics. But it's interesting to see waht the 'buzz' was on the front pages at various times.

Just discovered this - an immensely strong source of nostalgia! I'm setting the date to October 2005 - right back into AJB's 'Craig Wars' :v

it's weird, as in the last couple of days I've found myself reading the very old "off topic" threads....and then this pops up.

It's all very interesting stuff...and definitely a real window to the past.

I've been in stiches, as well as outraged by some of the posts...and I also have uncovered a post by Hardyboy that I think he might want to forget :v :)) :))

Indeed. Do tell. Was it my ultimatum to EON after the casting of Craig? (About which, I've said many a time, I was wrong.)

I was pretty much with you at the time, Hardy, in that I wanted Eon to prove they'd made the right decision, but I wasn't as worried as you were. Quite understandable, though---it was a bold bit of 'departure' casting.

I'm glad the Wayback Machine was revived. Some of these old threads---especially late '05 to late '06---are classic Craig WarsTM battlefields...where ghosts still walk :o

I just read a post from exiled soothsayer Ali Kerim Bey 46 (anybody remember him? One of the charter members of danielcraigspicturenexttoamonkey.com! :D ), predicting that Daniel Craig would not be the box office draw that Pierce Brosnan had been...

I have just been browsing over the archived sites of the last hour. I think it is amazing how sites change over time.

I looked up Google on there, That is very nifty.

I like AJB now rather than any of them
I couldnt find anything on the EON stuff though :s

Oh no, it is much funnier than that. It might put into question your status around here....do you still want me to tell? :D

Thanks, Loeff, it's good to have support. Gads, can you imagine if I was running for president?

    Cue ominous music. . .

Booming voice: "Hardyboy says he's ready to be president, but he can't even make up his mind about Daniel Craig. Three years ago he was against Craig, now he's for him. Which is it, Hardy?"

Second voice: "I'm Darenhat, and I approve this message."

Let's hope BonditicsTM never gets that ugly...but if it does, you can bet the Cinematic Bond Traditionalists will be behind it all... :v :D :))

That was fun looking back on so many old threads. It's like looking at an old yearbook! :)) I had forgotten about some of those members that were constast fixtures at the time! Even mods..like Parli32..whatever happened to him? Isn't it funny to scroll down, read a post you didn't remember and see that YOU, yourself had written it! :))

The font wasn't like that back then though. Something must have changed in the archives, because it used to be just like it is now!
