Happy holidays to all!!! I hope everyone's holiday season has been filled with lots of superawesome goodness and wicked cool presents! Now, since Santa (my fiance) got me the most superextramegauberfreakin'awesome gift, I just can't contain myself and I feel I must share it with you all so you can share in my joy, and in turn those of you who I'm sure can't contain themselves over their awesome gifts can share their joy as well.
Well I have often mentioned about how I have not seen all of the Bond films in their entirety and so my fiance bought me this:

I was sooo happy I started crying. I had been wanting the DVD set all year and had been meaning to save up the money for it. So now that i have it I have watched Dr. No twice and am going to watch FRWL next and so on and so forth. YAY!!!!! :007)

Lots of chocolate, aftershave/showergel and a few books.
Very pleased!
Not a bad Xmas, no tree though, my family are all knackered. I miss the old Bond film on Xmas Day, without it much of the programming seems a bit moralistic and downbeat, all Dickensian.
Gave the red wine a miss this year... last time I mixed it and got blotto, watching Dr Who with Catherine 'O my Goooooooood!' Tate would make anyone pass out. I caught up with it this year, but how anyone could still be sober enough to watch the Titanic episode with Kylie after starting to drink at 2.30pm beats me. It's all so frenetic too, it made me sick trying to watch it.
Otherwise, I caught snapshots of the Moore Bond films but though I didn't much care for CR, the films do look a bit dead to me.
Otherwise, Fred Astaire in Top Hat was brilliant. It's not really the same seeing it on BBC4 as terrestrial but at least you don't have to stay up til the early hours to see it.
I saw a bit of those Carry On Laughing TV specials they used to do, really not worth watching.
The Queen didn't have much to say, did she?
Enjoyed her movie though. Mirren is a bit too girly and regal, rather than the grumpy old bag Maam probably was around Diana's death. The Blair actor whose name escapes me is terrific. I love the direction, it has real sensitivity. But the digs at Blair were less topical now we've had six months of charisma-free Brown. One bit of dodgy exposition at the beginning from the deep voiced royal advisor, 'explaining' to the Queen who Tony Blair was and his background as he's about to meet her to be PM! She must have known a bit about him by then! And the actress who played Cherie was way too sexy... I wanted, in M5's parlance, to 'give her a good seeing to...' a phrase he used in relation to Samantha Bond's Moneypenny and certainly not, as I understand, the real Cherie Blair...
Roger Moore 1927-2017
I had a few CDs, clothes, Peter Kay's autobiography which is good and was very happy about thw Monty Python boxset, as I have never got round to any of them. So Life of Brian was great the other night.
My day wasn't too bad. better than last year at any rate. I saw Doctor Who and then spent most the night at the neighbours, watching my Russel Brand DVD, followed by Catherine Tate and far too many Colas. it was an unplanned 4 in the morning job...
I was just glad that my family was happy with what I got them for Christmas. That makes it for me. B-)
My art students, unknown to me, gave me alot of cool gift cards and t-shirts so overall I was quite pleased. Very touching jesture on their part.
Batman: "The Hammer Of Justice is UNISEX!"
-Batman: The Brave & The Bold -
Most of my other gifts were oriented toward the family as a whole: DVD recorder/VHS combo (we've begun to transfer our camcorder home movies onto disc!), a new receiver for my stereo system, a new CD/DVD burner for my computer...
But it's really all about the kids, and Santa was good to them...
"I am not an entrant in the Shakespeare Stakes." - Ian Fleming
"Screw 'em." - Daniel Craig, The Best James Bond EverTM
The only Bond related gift was a rather nice tin of the 12 Fleming Bond audio books on 36 CDs. :007)
That's Michael Sheen NP. He was fantastic as Kenneth Williams in an adaption of the diaries on BBC4. Russell T Davies has made noises about wanting him to be the next Dr Who.
):)):)) LOL that's hilarious! Indeed, you are right though! {[]
