Fleming/McClory article in The Times

There is a 3 page article about the, 'battle for Bond' in The Times today. Neither Fleming nor McClory come out of it well with Fleming coming across as an arrogant plagiarist and McClory as a user. Interesting to read though.

Yes, it's a good read, written by the bloke who wrote 'Battle for Bond'. A potted summary of the book, though doesn't mention any of the stuff like Connery's attempt to remake TB in the 1970s. Misleading title though, they call it the case that killed 007 or something, really they meant it killed Fleming.
"This is where we leave you Mr Bond."

I read this article too. I must buy 'The Battle for Bond.' I only really know the basics about this saga. I was listening to Sir Roger Moore's commentary on the OP DVD and I was surprised to hear him talk a bit about McClory in kindness. Moore calls him a "wildly funny Irishman," and describes gambling with him, and Cubby. I thought those two wouldn't go near each other, but perhaps this was in the days before things went awry for McClory.
