Jack Purcell OTR's run small?

I've read on Amazon that the Jack Purcell's run small...I'm a size 8.5-9, and I'm worried about purchasing the size 9 (the largest size they make and carry). I've heard that the last place that carries them will get you for shipping both ways if they don't fit. AND the pair that are size 9 on eBay now are because they were too small. Experience from anyone?

If you're an 8.5-9 you'll be fine with a 9. I'm a 10-10.5 and my 10s are a little snug for my taste. The next size up I was able to find was an 11 and it was much too large. I'd love to find a 10.5 but that ain't gonna happen.

I purchased a size 8 (my size) and they fit like a glove. No binding, pinching, or sore feet. In fact, one of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn.

Have you checked with Mantis to see if he still has his pair for sale?

Hey, thanks for the heads up. Just sent a PM to Mantis. Good to know the sizing is OK. You just never can tell from internet evidence. Much rather trust you guys.

For me, I normally wear a 10 but like Nike brand shoes, they run a 1/2 size small for me. Just my experience. I first purchased a 10 but had to exchange them for 10 1/2.

One thing I would like to add. While the OTR's are a sharp looking shoe, I did not find them comfortable. My feet seem to tire after wearing them for an extended period of time. I think it may be do to the lack of proper arch support and padding. I am considering having it added. Curious about others experience.

I wear 9.5 and got my pair of Purcell OTR in a size 9.5 which was the right thing to do as they are true to size (for me at least...) and fit perfectly. I do admit that they are a bit hard to wear in hot weather though as the leather is very thick and do not allow for the feet the breathe so much. So unlike in the movie in which the shoes are worn in a hot climate, I do not wear my pair when sandal weather comes around... but they are indeed very confortable otherwise and I enjoy my pair very much...

I usually wear a size 9, but got a size 9.5 in the OTRs, and they fit perfectly.

Im a 9.5 EEE...if you require a wide shoe, the Purcells will be uncomfortable. I sent mine back, sad to say because I liked the look.

I have a pair in black that I have promised to a fellow agent on this site. I found them uncomfortable even though they were the correct size (10). If I was able to I would go for size 10.5 cos I personally found them a little compressed at the toe and I agree with others on here that they seem inpratical for summer. I love these shoes but like the previous post I think I went for the look rather than the fit. I have a paprika brown coloured pair of high top caterpillars that are similar to the OTRS and although obviously not the real thing they are much more pratical and I wear them everywhere. They look great too. The next best thing.

I know this hasn't really been everyone's focus of late, but I've been searching the internet for some time to try and find a pair of the jack purcell otr's in a 10.5, or even more hopefully, an 11. But I've had no luck in well over a year.

This is a last ditch effort, but I know some of you guys are just amazing at finding things that I didn't even know existed, so I figured I'd try.

So, anybody know where I can find an 11 or 10.5?

I think you'll be hard pushed to find them now unfortunately :(

They're pretty much gone. A great alternative I've found is a brown leather Chuck boot with black soles. Since the paprika colored smiley toe is blacked out anyway, they're a pretty close match and the height isn't an issue because it's covered. I have both since I didn't want to use up my Purcells too fast. Heres a link.

The link doesn't seem to be working right now, hopefully it should be back up soon. I've ordered from them with no problem. Actually I think the company was found by someone here because they had Purcells left.

Image is from American Athletics but they don't have many sizes left and their price is a good bit more. I'm pretty sure Buy and Walk had 10.5 left and their price is only 59.99.

Oh, and the Chucks run a bit large so the 10.5 should fit fine if you decide to take that route.

That's a nice substitute. Although I have the OTR's, an every day substitute would be a nice thing to have. They'd go well with a pair of 5.11 or Royal Robbins tactical pants.

I own a pair of the Casino Royale Converse Jack Purcell OTR's, In my opinion, they run true to size.

If anyone is a size US8 or smaller, there are still some available in eBay.

I have just purchased a pair of the Converse Jack Purcell OTRs from an eBay store. I am a UK size 7 so opted for the US size 8.

I believe most interntaional converstion charts place a UK size 7 as the equivalent to the US size 7.5. However in view of the fact many have said these shoes come a little small I felt US size 8 the best option.

So I hope I've picked the right size!!!

Just in case any other members are interested at the time of posting the following US sizes were still available:

    3, 4, 4.5, 5.5, 6, 6.5, 7, 7.5 and 8.

Looks like you have to have pretty small feet but maybe 7.5 and 8 might fit someone here?

I was lucky enough to be able to get a pair in my size off ebay, but they haven't come in yet.

When they do, I'll comment on the size.

Mine arrived and it is an extremely comfortable shoe. Much more so than I expected them to be.

I have to say though that it is a size 10, when I normally wear a size 9. Found them on ebay (possibly bought it from another member here, so if they read this: Thank you!) and thought I would take the gamble.

    They fit perfectly!:D

So I believe it's safe to say that they do run a bit small...
