I'm scared about Camille...

She's "fiesty", will "kick ass", has a "revenge mission of her own", has "different goals to 007", will "start off an opponent but the two must collaborate".
Every single one of these quotes worries me, and all I can see in my mind's eye is Jinx (with a hint of Wai Lin). Not good - this is a very 'Brosnan-era' description of a Bond girl, and we all have our opinions on an "equal" leading lady.
Oh, but Olga tells us that Camille is "different to the other Bond girls", so I guess we're ok... |)

"Body flight training" though? Combat scenes? I can understand the fear...
Two things that jumped to mind on the title of this thread though... First on quick glance was that you said you were scared of her, the second was that her surname would indeed be Teaux )
Of course - its probably simply something they were told to say.
I guess Vesper was always referred to as a 'strong' woman, but knowing her character from the original story, we were all assured some emotional depth.
I hope they can achieve some credibility with Camille, I can imagine some nice vulnerabilities within her (Olga's acting in 'Hitman' was more than the film deserved).
Eon to lovely supermodel actress: "Have you ever seen a James Bond movie?"
Lovely Supermodel Actress: 'Oh yes. I'm a big fan. My favorite is Goldfinger. I think Pierce Brosnan did a great job in that one!'
Eon: 'Um...right. Well, you'll be happy to know that this character (Candeeze Bereel) is unlike any other Bond girl part - ever! You'll be tough and independent, sexy and smart, and - this is the kicker - James Bond actually has a love scene with you! And it's not some smutty thing. Bond and Candeeze actually have a connection. They care for each other. Exciting, huh? This is such a unique role, actually, that we were afraid you may not want to take it!"
Lovely Supermodel Actress: "No! No! I'd love to play the part. I've been hoping for something that would really highlight my talents!"
Eon: "Well, yes that's wonderful! And believe us when we say your talents will all be properly lighted. By the way, you'll be making scale."
Fantastic!
Now, as I bought up before I am not paticularly happy about the whole "Bond's equal" thing. i believe a Bond girl should never be nond's equal etc. and believe that the Bond girls who are closer to being as important as Bond to the plot are more like Vesper, Honey Rider or Natalya and are not the gun totting action girls of the Brosnan era, minus goldeneye, training the ones who are just as clever as Bond but haven't had any military training.
However having saying that the only thing I have seen that gives me hope is the production photo of Olga that was released today. there she looks great and not like a cliched Bond's Equal Secret agent Bond Girl.
*Fingers Crossed* we are looking at a Bond Girl more like a Modern Day Melina Havelock (for your eyes only) instead of another Jinx or Wai Lin.
Sounds like almost an exact description of Tilly Masterson, updated. I would love to see a charcter like that in QOS, haven't had one for quite some time now.
"Oh, no. This Bond girl isn't like all the others..."
Well...guess what? She's quite a lot like some, a bit different than the others. She's the latest (but far from the last) in a long, long line of hotties :x
The End :x

EON has created a number of wonderful adventuress characters over the years, guess I'm knee-jerking to the positive these days after CR, and with the choices being made on this current production.
Two brown haired chicks, one a gang moll with a grudge. The other a "friendly" secret agent.
South American Dictator, controlled by vicious gang leader.
Main bad guy mean to girls does things like cutting out - strike that - Kidnaping their boyfriends.
M angry at Bond for being disobidient.
Evil plot to take over world with drugs (oil)?
Felix Leiter in a tough spot.
.........Paging Mr. Truman Lodge!

I forgot to add to the above list:
Bond on a crusade for vengence!!!
With all the initial spin, and the film still under the lens, it is hard to really predict what we will be seeing coming November. Even so, my mind wanders back to November '06 and the ONE part of CR that had me squirming - Bond hanging off the fueling truck - an eerie sense of Deja Vu swept over me.
Then I see on the news clips from QOS, DC doing the Tarzan swing which looked alot like PB doing the same monkey rope swings in GE. I can feel optimism draining out the botton of my Converse shoes.

Well...if you enjoyed CR, I suppose you have two options: 1) Trust that Bond is alive and well in the new century , or 2) Surrender to despair
If you didn't like CR, I suppose you have two options: 1) Join craigspicturenexttoamonkey.com, or 2) Wait for the next actor to put things right...
P.S. If you didn't like CR, I'd urge you to pursue option 2 :007)

Really think all that is in how it's done. I don't have any deja vu with QOS other than as an extension of CR, ie we're in for more of the same only amped up. CR was rather operatic in it's intro to the new Bond, I expect QOS to cut to the chase as it were, early and often. EON post-2006 doesn't seem at all like EON pre-2006, IMHO anyway. After EON "brought back" Bond in the 90s with Brosnan and lathered/rinsed/repeated all the way to DAD, just never would've thought they'd have ever, ever made a film like CR. Yet they did. Until they go back to their old redundant ways, I'm giving them a Free Pass. QOS already has Haggis back and Craig back, Forster on board, Gassner, a great international cast again...this just ain't like the buildup to a pre-2006 Bond film, that sense of dread has vanished completely. FWIW and on the island of blue.
I know others ain't too hyped about Craig, or Haggis, and maybe think Forseter is too arty or whatever. And that's fine and dandy, if the new EON ain't making your Bond it ain't making your Bond. But clearly, they ain't making the old Bond (recent past anyway), not no way no how. QOS should turn out to be brave new Bond world part 2. Really can't wait. :007)
I would like to think that QOS will exceed CR, but that's such a hard act to follow. It's been done before, but not since 1964.
I'll cross my fingers and put on an extra pair of socks.

I'm a lost cause...it's an addiction...
True...but they acknowledge the challenge, and seemed motivated to achieve it. Should be fun watching them try :007)
