I was always curious with a few of Bonds clothing choices given the situation. and im not saying theres no logic behind it but id just like an explanation of some sort, first, why does bond wear a light blue polo and pants in the jungle in Dr. No? second, when Bonds sneaking around in thunderball (palmayra) and TLD (whittakers), Seans wearing a black polo and Dalton wears a similar black button down shirt and each have their PPK with no silencer and one magazine, so my questions for those are: Did the bond in the novels ever sneak around dressed in a black polo and carry a un-silenced PPK with one magazine? im thinking more mags wold help as would a silencer and possibly some tactical wear, but he is Bond so maybe he has to be well dressed even during those sneaking missions, comments, answers?

His mission is to avenge Leiter's mutilation by sharks.
No mention is made of his dress, except that he removed his shoes to creep around inside the buiding. He carries a Glass cutter, knob of putty and a sturdy casp knife in addition to his Beretta and a spare magazine. Bond does not use a silencer in this novel.
Later he makes a long dive in scuba gear with the Beretta and holster under his scuba suit.
Bond's use of a silencer occurs only when he has the Beretta. He employs it to kill the murderous pair Wint & Kidd in DAF and he attempts to use the silencer equipted Beretta against Rosa Klebb in FRWL. When armed with the PPK Bond never tries to affix a silencer.
In DN Bond wears black canvas jeans a dark blue shirt and rope soled shoes to visit Crab Key. In his holster is the Smith & Wesson Centennial with 20 spare rounds in his pocket.
Nothing is mentioned about Bond's wardrobe in "Goldfinger" when he visits the villians factory, but he leaves the PPK in his luggage.
In the short story, "Risico" Bond carries just the PPK in a raid on an Albanian smugling ship, clothing wise he wears his street duds. In another short story FYEO, Bond wears camo, and later an Army Dispatch riders uniform and carries a Long Barreled Colt 45.
For the exciting adventure TSWLM, Bond has two guns, a Smith & Wesson and the PPK and lots of magazines to fight two slimball hoods aptly named "Slugsy" and "Horror". Clothing-wise, he spends some time scampering about in the buff.
In OHMSS a tight ski-suit and the PPK, which he loses in the snow before the need for a spare magazine.
In YOLT, he has a nice Ninja suit - a no pistol of any kind. In TMWTGG, Bond carries the PPK but in the final shoot-out does not reload. Again he wears street clothes.
In TLD, Bond wears an executioners hood to take out "Trigger" a Russian Sniper, and uses a Winchester .308 Expermential International Target Rifle.
Now I may have missed something, since this is mostly off the top of my head. But hopefully it all these exciting scenarios will prompt someone to actually read the books. They are dam**d fine entertainment.

Oh yeah... The novels are far closer to reality than the charicature of the film Bond.
If he is as good of a shot as he is supposed to be, 33 rounds of 9mm should be enough to get out of a situation, or at least fight your way to a rifle or sub-MG if the rounds aren't wasted on 75 yard shots. Possibly a different outcome with 13 rounds of 7.65mm ammunition.
However, he seems to be dressed for the part for most of his situations or confrontations on the big screen. Sometimes he goes from one situation to another where he could be better dressed for that, but you can't exactly carry a change of clothes for every situation he might get into without knowing it.
