For Q how about Robert Lindsay. Good serious actor, with great comic timing.
Miss Moneypenny. I would like to see played by Rhona Mitra. She has a very upper class no nonsense attitude. Extemely attrctive, she would treat Bond with total disdane.
I would like to see Rachel Sterling as Miss Monepenny. Not only is she a great actress, but being the daughter of former Mrs James Bond, Diana Rigg, I think it would be a great in-joke for us hard-core Bond fans.

As for Moneypenny, Keeley Hawes would be outstanding. Her performance in Spooks, (MI-5 here in the States) was outstanding. She's attractive, the right age and if played like the
Penney of the novels, would be a welcome addition to the series.
The characters we have never met from the novels are the ones I'd like to see in the films; Loelia Ponsonby, Bond's first secretary, Dr. Sir James Molony, Ronnie Valance of Sotland yard Special Branch and of course May, Bond's beloved Scottish housekeeper. This is all probably asking too much as introducing these literary characters would undoubtedly slow the pace of the Bond action film. Still, I'd like to see how they would be handled.
We've only seen Bond at home twice;thefirst time in Dr. No with Sean Connery and Eunice Gayson, the second time with Roger Moore in Live and Let Die.
I wouldn't mind seeing Bond rounded out as a character and given a bit more background. This could be done by giving him just a bit of home life. Perhaps he could be at home doing his slow press ups or reading the Times when a call comes. May could bring him a breakfast he would be unable to finish because M needs him right away. For me, May and Lil and Sir James were far more important clues as to who Bond is as a person than either Moneypenney or Q.

As Q, I also nominate Hugh Laurie. I think he would suit the part well and I think he would add a good on screen balance to Craig's Bond. Plus the banter between the two would be supremely entertaining.
As Moneypenny I wouldn't discard the Saffron Burrows nomination, but personally would much rather see Tara Summers play the role. I can easily see her pulling off the charm of the old Moneypenny while at the same time invigorating the new one with her unique brand of sass.
I'm not sure we need Q and Moneypenny. Sure they fit in with the old formula perfectly, however the films have taken a developmental detour recently and I'm not sure they are needed anymore.
Particularly Moneypenny, I think Villiers is a suitable modern substitute.

Agreed...I think bringing Q back is definitely a good idea, but to cast a well-known celebrity in the part is begging for trouble, and turning the character into something more than he was intended for.
Seeing as how it seems more and more that the producers are trying to keep this Bond as sepearate as possible from the Bond we all grew attached to from 1962-2002, I'd say that, while I agree unknown actors could potentially yield great results for these two parts (Moneypenny and Q), either/or is a viable option for what they may choose to do. Moreover, either/or could yield great results. It all depends upon 1) who they cast 2) how much research they've put into their casting choices 3) and whether or not the person they do cast knows the significance of the role. In general, this series has made top quality choices as far as casting goes - IMO - and, admittedly, takes such decisions very seriously.

ive been saying this for months but saffron burrows for Moneypenny and peter capaldi for Q, I feel he could bring a more firm humour to the role rather than the slapstick crap we endured with john cleese.

The problem with bringing Q back is that the character is seeped into every orifice of films, books etc that the idea isn't original anymore. For instance, I saw an episode of The Saint last night with Roger Moore and there was a Q-type character in that! He was there giving him a pin-flower with a bugging device inside and a wrist-watch which took photographs.
At the same time, Bond films should be different from, say, the Bourne films. At the moment, he's very much a lone ranger, with just M around. Although I didn't think much of Quantum of Solace, I did like the fact that it seemed fresher without the regular banter sessions with Q. Desmond Llewelyn was marvellous in the role, and although John Cleese was a laugh etc, no other actor should play him - especially as the scenes were getting progressively more light-hearted as time went by, which had more to do with the audience's fondness for Llewelyn as it did for the character.
Honeysuckle Weeks as Moneypenny is a great idea. But DC chatting up M's secretary just doesn't seem to fit. Brozzer yes, because he just seemed to enjoy flouncing around the office in his dandyish suits, but DC doesn't strike me as the office sort.

ooh, what about Emily Fox? She and Craig have worked together in 'flashbacks of a fool' (she actually played his very upperclass drug dealer ) but she has the sassyness and slightly 'offish' persona which would add a bit of frisson....
My suggestions for Q: Pete Postlethwaite (IMO he would do great), F. Murray Abraham or Oliver Ford Davies.
Postlethwaite is a very unusual choice but could certainly work. I'm not sure about Abraham; a very talented actor, but is he appropiate for Q? I don't know. As for Oliver Ford Davies, I must confess that I haven't heard of him. While Hugh Laurie remains my ideal choice for Q, I do think that Postlethwaite is an fantastic and unique suggestion.
For Moneypenny, why look any further than the lovely Kate Winslet? :x
She's heavenly :x but if she were to be in a Bond film, why not have her as the Bond girl?
