Would this be when he complained about people taking pictures of him with their camera phones while he was at the urinal?

    How dare he moan!

Here's The Daily Mirror's take on the story:

Daniel Craig Doesn't Like Being Stared At

    27/03/2008

Poor old Daniel Craig has been moaning again - apparently he doesn't like people staring at him.

Maybe you shouldn't have become an actor then, love!

The Bond star, 40, has been comparing himself to the character Joe Scott who he plays in film Flashbacks of a Fool. He told Empire mag: "Joe has driven himself into a corner, and I kind of relate to that. I can understand wanting to hide away from everything, because people seem to be staring. It does get you down." Diddums, 007...

Let me file this--and the post that opened this thread--under the category of "Come on!" All Craig says is that he can relate to his character and that people staring at him gets him down. He DOES NOT moan or whine. He DOES NOT tell people to leave him alone. He DOES NOT say he regrets being a public figure. That's it. Of course, I'm sure if Craig said that he loves being stared at and he just wants more and more attention we'd accuse him of being an egotistical ass. The guy can't win, can he?

    Ah, dear old Mirror... 8-)

I think Craig has gotten much better at handling what must be a sometimes grueling aspect of his fame.

It's a bit sad that someone would take a tossed-off remark from an interview---lifted from an article that was probably more excreted than written---and use it as a club to beat a horse long since shuffled off this mortal coil, but it's also drearily unsurprising :(|)

Quite- I'd like to see someone who works (and not a schoolboy) say that they love every single aspect of their job. I like my job a lot, but there's drawbacks to everything you choose to do, no matter how much you love it.
And if anyone thinks for a moment that Sean Connery loves being stared at then you need to see him storming down the pavement towards you.

Actually, wasn't Sean being followed into the toilet by the Japanese press famously a large factor in why he quit the Bond job? Thank heavens he 'resigned and let some actor who can play bond properly have the job.' 8-)

He could always just slam someones head into a sink like in the opening of CR. That might get him some privacy.

Happened whilst filming YOLT, quite a big contributing factor to Sean actually resigning as Bond after that film, the vicious japanese press was also quite a big factor why he was so grumpy all the time during filming in Japan.

And we had a thread last year about Brosnan wading into a paparat. Dalton admitted that he wasn't keen on publicity at his first press conference for Bond. Lazenby didn't cope at all with his brief tenure as Bond. The only one who seemed to deal with the attention has been Roger Moore. Given what Craig has had to put up with in the last two and a half years he seems to have dealt admirably.

Here's the trailer for the film Craig was talking about.

I don't like the title and films about the film industry rarely do well, Soderbergh's Full Frontal anybody? It looks interesting, if a little self-indulgent.

I haven't seen Full Frontal, but it practically went direct to video here in the States
