007 Fashion Sense

There has been numerous threads discussing the various neck ties that Bond has worn over the last couple of years. I had a thought that it might be interesting to have a contest of sorts to see if our members, who secretly would love to dress like Bond, could come up with a neck tie, which would rival what we might see in QoS . I not speaking of what we have seen in the trailers, but what we think Bond should wear. Perhaps we could all post a pic of our own versions of the "ultimate Bond neck tie and vote for a winner. Your thoughts?
Bond: "Who would spend $1 million to kill me?"
M: "Jealous husbands. Outraged chefs. Humiliated tailors. The list is endless!"

Haha this is a neat idea. Some of Hemming's choices are certainly hit or miss anyways, and she can't compare to the collective fashion sense of all the Bondian forumites here. ;)

I think this is a great idea. Not just for ties but for the whold Bond "look".
Whenever I buy a new suit, tie or even casual clothes, I always go for things that I feel are "Bondian". In recent years that has been quite easy, with Pierce wearing "classic" suits and shirts and Craig sporting a more contempory look. My work suits all have that Bondian theme as do my ties and shirts. My casual/leisure clothes too are taken from what I think Craig would wear in CR or QOS.
I will try to scan some ties that I feel have the Bondian look and see what other fans think.
I will also look for some pics of me in other clothes that I feel fit the bill too.

I think you are correct. We should expand this to include complete outfits.
Bond: "Who would spend $1 million to kill me?"
M: "Jealous husbands. Outraged chefs. Humiliated tailors. The list is endless!"

I'm pretty much with Strangeways on this. I do most of my shopping on-line due to distance, but I don't want to look exactly like James Bond, only in the same style.

Except for the Boat tie and another I'm in for, I don't really own any 'James Bond' clothing except for the leather coat in TND, courtesy of Wested Leather.

I only have three items of Bond apparel that I can think of - sorry, no pictures. Oldest item is a black knitted silk tie, followed by a pair of black leather moccasins with crepe soles and lastly a blue shirt (C&A? buried somewhere, so I can't check the label) as worn by PB in TND

No need to check the label, it is from the now defunct C&A.

I forgot about the Sunspel polo I have. It's rather cool to wear now and it slipped my aging mind.

I went to Egypt last summer and bought some tan slacks to wear in the evening with a black linnen shirt. Felt cool playing cards in the hotel bar.
Oh, and I bought the Persol sunglasses too.

I think Bond should wear Charvet. They are some of the nicest ties I have worn.

Asp, was Simon Hobbs originally based in T&A London? I imagine you would know, as you've been going there for about 15 years.

Very nice Asp!!! This is what I meant by the original thread. Lets look at what we think Bond should be wearing.
Bond: "Who would spend $1 million to kill me?"
M: "Jealous husbands. Outraged chefs. Humiliated tailors. The list is endless!"
