Hope the link works...check out Craig running up stairs (?) with the Airman's and Sunspel(?) shirt on. Sunspel did indeed fill a large order of the navy polos! Could it be? And what of Greene's 'Q' lapel pin?

Questions abound!

Well, in the roof-top running shots he seems not only to be wearing the Sunspel polo but BLUE JEANS!!!! as well!:o

I just love that second shot of Craig running up those steps. If ever there was a picture that just summed up the aggresion he brings to the roll.........thats it!
Looks like your right about the blue jeans to!

    Sunspell polo and jeans. ?:)?:)?:)?:)
    Very very different to Brosnan.
I think Lindy Heminway newer used jeans in films.

About time he wore jeans! now for those Thom Browne pants and he's definately 21st century Bond.......LOL
    Never fear the event

Everything about that shot is superb. What a great thing if it is Sunspel, but it means I'll have to buy more. The OP Aviators look great too. This may be a very expensive year for us Bond fashionista's

As I have said before, but maybe the jeans will help to offset the costs of the sunglasses. LOL.

Anybody, got a clue on the boots? They look vaguely antique military.
  • ClarkyClarky IndianaPosts: 200MI6 Agent
AS far as the boots are concerned; I have looked at them with photoshop and have been adjusting levels an contrast and other adjustments.

My conclusion from this pic is they don't have laces, they are a pull on type boot. Kind of like a round toe cowboy boot. The sole looks like smooth leather, again like a cowboy boot. Opinions?

Perhaps John Varvatos or something along those lines. Though, I've seen a bigger picture (USA Today) and they look to have rubber soles. Quite possibly a Chukka boot with the laces tied inside the shoe. It wouldn't make sense to have a slip-on boot for a scene that he would be running (especially up a roof) in. The slip-on style boot would give him blisters and would become very uncomfortable. Honestly, my money is on a casual rubber soled suede chukka boot.

NEW VIDEO of CRAIG in Airmans...are they gold? Is that a Sunspel...hmmm. Dominic at Sunspel says they have supplied Ts and Polos for the production but where they end up is anyone's guess...and does that "Sunspel" have a pocket?

They aren't gold. Oliver Peoples doesn't make a pair of sunglasses that are gold with grey ear pieces. His sunglasses definitely have grey ear pieces.

And that Sunspel does have a pocket.

I'm curious what brand of jeans Bond would wear. Perhaps Dunhill? I saw some jeans at the Dunhill in Vancouver the other day.

The 'gold' might be caused by the yellowish surroundings reflecting in the shiny metal of the glasses... I think they're probably just silver(-color).

If you look at the video that Mantis posted, it does look as if his boots don't have laces. There's a good shot with him and olga, and depsite wearing the jacket, it seems he has the same outfit on underneath.

Thanks for the pic but there is no way Bond will shows those trainers/suit combo on screen. Has to be for the stunt only.

With the direction Bond's fashion is headed, that wouldn't surprise me.

Thanks to Mr. Boldman's observation, I captured the video that The Mantis linked. The quality is crappy re-rendered .flv, BUT as I was looking at the scene frame by frame something struck me. There may be a chance they are harness boots, aka motorcycle boots.

As it happened I am wearing a pair of black Harley Davidson's looking down on the worn toe they look rounded even though they are squared from general use. If you look and that scene from the video it looks as though there is a shiny ring on the outside left ankle. Could they be some Frye's or Harley's? It is not very clear but I'll try to post the pictures.

I really don't think his boots have laces.
  • ClarkyClarky IndianaPosts: 200MI6 Agent
Okay, this is a particularly crappy melding of images, but I did it on GIMP instead of Photoshop and I'm am not as good with it as PS. I can clean these up later but this is at least an example of what I am talking about.

The boots DO have laces, just found this pic (look closely, you can see it's a chukka)

    Thanks cpolous62.

With regard to jeans, they can't be Dunhill, seeing as their rep in London totally denied supplying anything for the film, though they look very similar to Dunhill Selvedge. They could be good ol' Levi's, more specifically, the 517 or 502. (pretty much any boot cut jean)

    Amazon.com Levi 517

EDIT: In case you were wondering, I found that pic of DC in this gallery QoS Gallery. Click the pics twice for the hi-res version.

I just can't make out the laces in the picture, but they appear to fit the foot like my Justin Ropers that have the leather of the foot spilling over the edges of the soles on the sides. Also appears to have a more pronounced heal than most chukkas I have seen. The toe on the right foot does appear to be very round but my bet is on some kind of slip on boot.
Here are Ariat ropers with a similar color sole:

Not saying this is the shoe in question, just looking for the right ballpark.

    They certainly have laces, unmissable...

These look to be the same boots as seen in earlier shots. Maybe this time they are just covered in dust from the desert?
