Limited Edition 007 Oliver Peoples.

I just talked to my Oliver Peoples contact and they are planning to introduce the limited edition James Bond Oliver Peoples Airman at a show next week. She asked me if I wanted to pre-order a pair, I did.

The price hasn't been set yet, but they are silver with Midnight Polarized VFX lenses.

Very cool. I've been wearing Oliver Peoples for sixteen years and they can't be beaten for quality or style.

Time for a trip to the optician.

Clarky, when you have the chance, give us a price and availability on these. Plus how to order a pair.

Are these the screen correct combination of lenses and frames?

    Thanks

I share in your dissapointment, but with an edition of less than 150 I am glad I have a pre-order.

True, maybe I can wear them to the premiere if the streetlights are bright enough :D

I agree with you Mantis... After I hesitated and didn't take the plunge to get another polo shirt at 50%, I had to pre-order this one before it gets sold out...

As far as release, I'm not entirely sure. My girl told me that I could get mine in June. I'll get a price to you as soon a I know it.

I have a pair of Aeros that I really love, they are very similar to the Airman. I'll tell you they are worth the money. I like my OPs better than the Persols for day to day wear. They just stay on your face better than Persols. I hate when sunglasses slide down my nose. The 2244s are way better than the Special Edition ones, but my OPs are like Oakleys in their face gripping.

She told me they were. As we all know, things aren't always as they appear on screen. The ones in the pictures show black ear pieces, but my Aeros have grey and clear ear pieces. I wish I could guarantee it, but I can't. I haven't even seen a picture of the ones I ordered. All I know is they are as I described above.

The cool thing about the VFX lenses are they get darker or lighter with the brightness of the lights. They aren't bad indoors, if you want to look cool in the mall or buying groceries. :D

    Hello –

I am writing to you as you have pre-ordered the Oliver peoples Airman.

I have the latest info on them: they will be available in October now, and will be available in two lens versions: graduated photochromic (£223.00) and polarised (£255.00). Oliver Peoples are only making 150 of each for the whole world(!?)

Until we see the film we cannot be certain which lens colour is worn. I know that the production company was given both versions, so he may wear both.

We have ordered a lot of them and we will be happy to give people the choice of lens type when they become available.

There is no special limited edition '007 engraved' version. They will be exactly the same as they were originally. It's true that they're limited but they're not specially branded.

I shall keep you updated as and when I have new information.

    All the very best.
My first post. Thought I would share the news.

You can pre order them from adam simmonds for a £50 deposit.
What adam simmonds said in their email about no specific QOS branding would make sense as i bought the oliver peoples sunglasses from the mr and mrs smith movie...these were limited edition from the film but had no markings.maybe oliver peoples are just not bothered about endorsments from film.

I'd think of getting these if the dollar wasn't so absolutely "effed" right now. But $500 for a pair of sunglasses that might look horrible on me? Damn exchange rate.

I went to my local Oliver Peoples dealer, told them what I was after. They called OP and got the skinny about the glasses. They already had my info from when I bought my Aeros and ordered them from OP while I was in the store.

They didn't say any to me about a gradient pair, just the Silver and Midnight combo. It makes me wonder why.

I won't be buying this particular model but I HIGHLY recommend Oliver Peoples.

I have the Oliver Peoples "Victory" frame and they are easily the best sunglasses I've ever owned. Take care of them and they are well worth the money - you guys won't be disappointed!

Well...I had to make an "executive decision" here. I'm going to be shelling out $300 for the Madagascar shirt and although I would like to get the limited edition Oliver Peoples Airman sunglasses, I had a hard time justifying $500 for a pair of sunglasses. However, today I did purchase a pair of the Airman in a gold frame with "emerald" lenses. Although, not the screen used version, these were about half the price and I think this color combo will actually look better on me...Hey I gotta save my pennies (my Planet Ocean purchase will be completed this summer and I have no idea what additional pruducts I'll be chasing once QOS comes out in November).

Besides...I suppose I can always have my optician put in grey lenses for me if I want them to look closer to the QOS pair.

    Cheers!

Forgot to mention...Since I live in Wisconsin, the gold and emerald is probably the way to go for me...Green Bay Packer colors!
