Questions about the CR Polo

This is a copy from a different thread, but I'm not sure that was the right place for it, so I am revisiting it in its own thread.

I have a question for the Sunspel Polo people. Does the polo have hemmed or banded sleeves? The second question is does anyone have a real world comparison of sizes? I have a t-shirt but I don't have a polo because they only go to XL, I am an XXL and 6' tall, the xxl t-shirt fits, but I have been worried about buying the polo. If the shirt stretches well especially length wise I'll be good. If not, I wonder if they with custom make a number of them. Anyone big on this group or know the answer?

If I could buy a shirt off of the rack my size I'd be a 20 fitted tall and my suit size would be a 56 chest 38 pant! That is why I tend to buy clothes bespoke. This whole athletic and muscle fit stuff now days just means short for me. Regular cut fits me the way the athletic cut fits other people.

sry Clarky, missed this yesterday, and the other thread.....ur qn deserves an answer...

I'm 43 chest, 6 foot, and I have 2 of these polos, both xl...they just fit me (after washing, even more JUST)...

regarding length, they arn't generous, but they are long enough to stay in ur pants...

I'd guess with ur size, you'd def need a xxl or bigger...why don't you ask them if they'd go up a size?...

BTW, I also hit the bid the same day, and got the "wait until mid-may" email to which i too replied NP...

    still no show... :(

Cool that helps me very much. I didn't want to buy the shirt if I had no use for it. I think I will talk to them about making a larger one, or several. I would think six or so would make them interested, at least T&A do six minimum, why not Sunspel.

    Hello Clarky,

I am usually an XL size guy (US sizes).
The blue Navy CR Polo IS infact available in XXL size and that's what I went for for myself.

I also have a Sunspel size guide as a PDF file, so, please drop me an email (I have lost your email addy) and I'll forward it to you.

    Kind regards

Bondtoys: Could I grab a copy of that PDF?

I'm thinking of buying a sunspel polo. I'm usually a Medium or Large (in Australia). As a reference point, ralph lauren custom fit polos in medium are a good fit for me. How would this translate to the sunspel? I'm thinking I might go large as medium might be too small...but it's a tricky one.

I don't want to get it wrong as it's a fairly big purchase for me.

I was actually wondering the same thing as Sharpe. I am usually a medium when it comes to polos (41 inch chest), but it seems like the Sunspel runs small. Is it necessary to size up or does the true size do the trick?

Bentley, definatley go up a size, maybe 2 if you want a baggier fit. As a comparison, I am a 42-43 inch chest, usually go with a medium with most makes. With Sunspel i got a L, and even then, its slightly close fitting on the shoulders( but looks and feels fine). I was in London a month or so back and took advantage of the 30% off in the shop and got an xl. In sunspel T-shirts, i take an XL also. Good luck sir!

    Bentley,

My recommendation is to go with your exact body dimensions and then use the mentioned Sunspel size guide.

Sounds much more accurate than following the general advise here to go for 1 size up.

Anyone know of a new discount code for Sunspel? Thanks!

EDIT: Found it when I went on the site - it's JANSALE

I see the size guide says an XL is 43-44. Is that the size of the actual shirt? So if someone has a chest that size, it would be skin tight? I normally wear a XL or large tall polo shirts. My chest is 40". Thanks!

But what's the comparison of that to the shirt? How much bigger is the shirt? I know LL bean has a polo shirt in large (for body sizes 42-44) but the actual size of the shirt is 48.

If you are 40 chest, then opt for a medium for a fitted look, and large for a relaxed look. I just received three of these tees. The fabric will 'give' after a short while of wear. I can atest the fabric is super soft and is not see through. Highly recommended. I just ordered four more shirts. The most popular models are sold out. Guess due to the strong demand amid the 25% discount.

I just got my XL and I think it fits perfect. As I've started to work out, I think it'll be fine. Anything smaller and it would be kinda tight.
