if what they told me above is true, I don't see the point of having Magnoli do the DAD blue circle tie if it (will/MIGHT) be available from T&A sometime in the future.
It would just be for the price, and that Magnoli makes them more readily available.
I agree entirely jonny-dh and having ventured into the big smoke and faced the formidable line up of snooty sales persons in Jermyn St, I'd sooner give my business to Indy!
Can't wait for the tank tie but I'm happy to sign up for replicas of all the Brosnan era ties!
Japanese proverb say, "Bird never make nest in bare tree".
Amen. I mean, if the ties are readily available at the shop, I'll be happy to buy it from them. But if its going to be a wild goose chase and having to check the store every so often to see what is or isn't in stock, that isn't worth it for me. As I said, I'm not a collector with an imperative to own the originals... I just love the ties and want to own them to wear - if Magnoli is going to offer a version for less than 1/2 the cost and of fabulous quality close to the original (and according to Asp, even more durable!), I'm completely on board for that.
Although I will say I always used to think that Brosnan's suit in the Hamburg scenes was black... but I'm pretty sure its dark gray. Dark Browns and dark grays all seem to come out near black on film.
I also thought it was black until I seen it on another TV and it looks all most like the QOS Bolivia arrival suit color, maybe a little darker. I guess it just depends on the TV and colors settings really.
Away at Boot Camp, won't be back until April the earliest.
No, that's dark grey too, according to "James Bond's London", where they talk about how originally Hemming needed a bunch of "Bilbao suits" until the producers changed their mind and decided some time had passed between Bilbao and the MI6 scenes.
