Danger! Original 1960's spoof and 007 inspired movies

Many of you out there will already be aware of many Films that have elements of Bond in them - the Bond films spurned a whole genre really in terms of glamorous spy thrillers - obviously there are the Flint films starring James Coburn -and also a particular female adventurer Modesty Blaise is popular with several members here at AJB -anyway I thought it would be a good idea to share knowledge of original 1960's movies that have Bond trappings in them. The hero might not necessarily be a secret agent but generally they are individuals who go up against dastardly villains -live the high life and generally look cool even in a kitsch sort of way.
For example I've come accross a trailer from 1968 for a film called Danger: Diabolik! - it's OHMSS own Blofeld Telly Savalas doing the voiceover also. But watch this anyway as there are moments in it that are so obviously inspired by Bond its funny.

Feel free to share other clips from such movies that way opening everybody's eyes to movies that many of was would like to watch but may not even be aware of. Also if anyone can find a clip from Operation Kid Brother and post it -that will be fantastic as this movie is particularly rare.

One I've never seen before but am contemplating ordering -- Operation Snafu, with a heavily promoted Connery in his Bond prime. Does anyone have thoughts on this title? I'd love to hear if this is worth buying.

I've seen this on UK tv about ten years ago. It was screened under the title On the Fiddle. Connery is the sidekick, not the lead. That's played by an annoying cockney bloke. I guess Bond had just taken off and they promoted Connery as being the star. It's a WW2 film in which a couple of chancers end up getting sent on a dangerous mission. It's mostly comic, but gets serious towards the end if I remember correctly. It's worth seeing if you are a Connery completist, but I wouldn't pay too much for it Alex.
PS, the poster's great though.
Bummer about that one, If possible I'll grab cheap. Speaking of Bond copied films it happens to be the ultimate passion of mine. You haven't lived until you've seen these wondrous moments on celluloid. (Germany in particular, a personal favorite)
I swear I've seen tons of 007 mania infuenced films from every corner of the European world. (is there anything better thing to obsess over I ask you?)

I saw On The Fiddle many years ago, Connery is the sort of slow-witted sidekick to Lynch's Del Boy. I suppose the same dynamic as The Man Who Would Be King as it started out.

Certainly would indeed. I'm always checking out what is on BBC4 these days -and tend to watch The Avengers quite often late at night -when they are on. ( Even though its usually by chance and I think its BBC 4 they are usually on on a Friday night.):D
Bernard Lee and Lois Maxwell would also return in another Bond spoof: From Hong Kong With Love (1975) with an unexpected gunbarrel intro playing the James Bond theme!

I have. I really enjoyed Fathom. It's a lot of fun, and there's lots of lingering shots of Raquel in a bikini. That's a good thing.
Thanks for that. It seems there are quite a few films I need to see that I have no idea exist !
